Sliding door actuators failed on both sliding doors. driver side sliding door is stuck shut. There is a TSB for this for the same model year, but only for vehicles built after May 2015. Mine was built in January 2015. Worried about my kids getting stuck in the van in an emergency.

Passenger rear sliding door on my 2015 Chrysler Town and Country will not unlock with the remote. This happens all the time and has become a great concern as it causes not only frustration for me but has caused stress for my grand children thinking they are stuck in the vehicle! This also causes my wife to have to open the passenger front door and reach between the seat and the "B" post to reach the lock and unlock the door. Then at this time the door must be opened manually or push the remote button again to try and open it. This happens in hot or cold weather. This could cause the door to fail to unlock in an panic causing injury or loss of life during an emergency. As a first responder this would cause us to have to figure out ways to cut the door open or use the jaws of life to open the door after a crash where the driver is unable to inform us of the issue in unlocking the door. Safety issue for sure that needs to be repaired by Chrysler at their expense since they know of the issue.

Several times over the past few weeks the van has just shut off while driving. This has happened at low speeds and at city driving speeds. The engine just completely shuts off and the van loses power brakes/steering/acceleration with no warning, no rough running, no sounds, and no check engine light. The mechanic cannot find anything wrong with it but the problem continues at random intervals. This is potentially very dangerous and even worse is that there is no evident problem.

While driving at 70 mph on the highway on 8/13/23, the car electrical system failed. Power steering immediately failed. Brakes unresponsive. Lost control and almost veering into a semi beside us. Coasted and lane changed with no means to signal to others. Once we coasted to a near stop car was put into park without ability to press on break. After 3 min, attempted to start car again and it was responsive again.

Last month when driving my van started to stall when driving came to a stop at a light and the engine jerked, light turned green started to drive and it wouldn't go over 30 then all of a sudden it speeded up and the started making a weird sound pulled, off into a parking lot wasn't able to get it all the way in a parking spot. Called to have it towed. The transmission blew and it only has 65,000 miles. That cost me alot to get a transmission. Now the seatbelt on drivers side will not lock into place. Which I don't know what to do with that because you have to wear a seatbelt. When I bought this van brand new I had a lot of electrical issues kept taking it to the dealer they could never find anything. Lights would dim when driving, they was suppose to hook a machine up to it and it would register what was going on, this was requested by Chrysler when I couldn't get anywhere with the dealer ship. Chrysler set it up I go to the dealer and they don't have that equipment so they said they couldn't do anything, called Chrysler back told them was suppose to hear from someone never did. I feel this van is a death trap. The side doors act like they don't want to close at times. I have kept up on regular maintenance on the van. I just feel that when you pay $30,000 for a vehicle and take care of it things should last longer. I know it's 7 years old but low mileage and taken care of.

Car has intermittent start issues related to the fuel pump relay in fuse box. Many reports & fixes on YouTube including engineers manufacturing parts & fixes. My van is sketchy & I use it for business travel 3 or four hours away where I get stuck. I-??m not happy Chrysler has ignored this major issue.

The battery and check engine lights are constantly on despite a new battery, new battery cable, and new alternator. The cruise control will randomly stop working. Abs and vehicle stability lights will go on and off. And at times headlights, dash, and radio screen will flicker and lose power making it impossible to see or know what the car is doing. Mechanic has looked at and repaired the car 3 different times and there is nothing identifiably wrong. The car is now unsafe to drive not knowing when the dash will go out, speed will reduce, or lights turn off. It is a hazard to the driver and others on the road.

The sliding electrical/mechanical passenger door does not close entirely and continually retries to re-close. I observe over the years that there must be a sensor or other mechanical/electrical detection of door "closure" that is not working correctly off and on for a least 4 years. The action we've taken to is to manually force the door closed as the electrical-mechanical closure detection cannot always sense door closure correctly. Occasionally the condition can occur while driving causing fear the door will open or not be locked exposing passengers to potential serious injury hazard while in motion. The condition has not improved despite efforts to clean, clear, oil parts to try and remediate the item. Dealer is not making any recommendations for remediation on this defect to this point. These cases first noticed in 2018, and has continued off and to the present. I was made aware of potential class action on the issue from another FCA auto owner and raising this item for purposes of lending my experience to the number of customers affected by this SLIDING DOOR ELECTRICAL/Mechanical issue.

Bought the car new in 2014, (it was the 6th Chrysler minivan I've owned since 1995.) I love these minvans! this one has had an ongoing problem with cylinder #3 misfiring and causing violent shaking (as if it had a broken engine mount). The problem has always been diagnosed and eventually "fixed" by three different Chrysler service departments in nc, fl & va.(the problem occured on various trips). It was usually diagnosed as a faulty fuel injector. Most recently it was diagnosed as a spark plug failure due to a tiny crack in the insulation. They installed a new spark plug, and after leaving dealership and driving no more than 20 miles, violent shaking occured again. I immediatley returned to the dealership. This time #3 spark plug had "exploded" and caused the cylinder head to crack. All previous repairs were covered by the "lifetime" warranty purchased at the time of purchase in 2014. However this time, Chrysler insurance sent an investigator who determined that the damage was caused by the exploding spark plug and therefore denied coverage. The Chrysler service technician said the "PCM" failed, causing the spark plug failure. The insurance agent continues to deny the claim because their policy "does not cover spark plug problems" ! they now want me to pay $2500 for repairs. In all cases, the "check engine light" came on and I would return to a Chrysler dealership to have it checked. Their computer check always defined the problem as being something in cylinder #3, but inconclusive because of no obvious engine symptoms. They would reset the engine light and send me on my way until an actual problem occured, and then leave the vehicle for more detailed checking. Each time the problem occured at highway speeds and usually in heavy traffic on I-95...a dangerous time and place for engine problems to occur. Please note that every problem we've had with this vehicle has always been with cylinder #3 "misfiring". is there a problem here?

I've had to have major work done to my engine and transmission. But the electrical problems are never ending. Most of the electric inside of my car hardly works. Our power doors have closed on my kids several times, the car has locked us in while the alarm was going off and we couldn't get out, it's been stuck on and wouldn't turn off, the transmission is constantly slipping, the windows open and close themselves, many times I've come out of the store and the electric sliding door was open when it wasn't left open, locks lock themselves, car alarm goes off while cars in drive and in park, car hesitates to go and I could go on and on. This car is only five years old !!!!

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated while driving 70 mph, the instrument panel and the display screen went blank. The contact then stated that the vehicle would then seize in park, not allowing the gear shifter to shift gears. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to Carolina Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (1001 halstead blvd, elizabeth city, nc 27909) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuse box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and referred the contact back to a local dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

I've replaced the battery 3 times in the past 8 months. This last time the battery almost exploded because of the draw on it. My mechanic says there's nothing wrong with the van and the parts store says there's nothing wrong with any of the 3 batteries they sold me. Ive gone on line and other people complain of a parasitic battery drain.. my vehicle was in my driveway each time when the battery was found dead.

Secondly side doors do not always shut securely and keep clicking like they are stuck and will not latch. Does this on both sides must get out and manually shut the doors a few times to get it secured. The side door on driver side did have to have electrical repaired in 2020 as the door shut and would not reopen at all. This repair was done by my mechanic.

I was driving along in motion, an all of a sudden the car just completely shut down. The steering wheel locked up and the brake got tight. Thank god I was on a slow street so I was able to stop the car and put it in park and the car started right back up again. This happened to me once in October and once again a month later in November. In November I was on a regular street in traffic and the car shut down. I was able to put it in park and start it back up again. This is so scary and a safety problem. Thank god I didn't cause an accident.

Headlights keep going out. I've had both low beam headlights replaced twice in less than 3 months. High beams, signal, parking lights all work as they should. I took it to a shop and they said the hid headlight ballast needed replaced. No power going to low beams. Had it replaced and lights worked fine for about 2 months. Now I'm having the same problem again. I just bought the van in July. I've searched the problem and this seems to be a recurring issue with this model.

Car shuts off randomly while driving. It shuts off both at slow speeds such as driveling in a parking lot and at highway speeds. All power shuts off including power steering and the breaks won't work. This has happened to me 4 times while driving and poses a huge safety risk. I have only narrowly missed several accidents due to this.
