auto stop/start battery charging

The auto stop/start has never functioned properly in this vehicle since I took possession of it in 2021 at approximately 46,000 mi at vehicle startup and chime stating needs service. Was told it was deactivated which is what I actually wanted so I had no cause to believe this was an issue as opposed to me wanting the service disabled so I would not have to deal with it, quite frankly I find it quite annoying in the vehicles actively using it at stops next to me. I'm now aware, it is physically impossible for lack of better word to disable the system on a more permanent level as previously assumed, and yes I am aware of the temporary button to deactivate the feature per drive. It lights up blue when depressed, But this is irrelevant as my message board reads It needs serviced.

Voyager LXI

  • Automatic transmission
  • 67,000 miles

After jumpstarting the auxiliary battery, my stop/start service appeared to be a functional available feature for the first time since I took possession of this vehicle in June 2021 at approximately 46,000 mi at which time I believed the feature was disabled manually and have had a stop start unavailable message appear upon startup every time the vehicle has been started prior to this day. The messages were clear, at first it said the feature was unavailable until the engine warmed up, the temperature outside was approximately 20° F, after driving for a few minutes to warm and give the vehicle a chance to charge as previously stated it did need to be jumped, a new message took its place stating battery charging. Continue to drive for at least 1 hour, it did not charge. Depressing the auto stop start off button had no bearing on this though it appeared to be functional also, it would return to the battery charging once pressed again. After the engine was turned off, and restarted, the stop start unavailable service stop start system message reappeared on my dash along with its lit up orange instrument panel light with the A in a circle next to it!

During this battery charging time, the van appeared to be almost hesitating while driving as if something were affecting or trying to shift but while I was driving! I was legitimately frightened It would shut itself down, and stop running while driving! I did not notice any noises, though coming out of a stop and attempting to turn right, the vehicle acted as if the anti-skid feature had been activated trying to grip the road with the wheels but no lights lit up on my instrument panel nor on the button located on my center console where I would depress it myself to disable or re-enable. Upon shut off or once the auto start was an active and unavailable again, there were no issues relative to this at all. I experienced this two days in a row, twice makes a pattern, and that pertains to all of the above mentioned information.
