On Tuesday May 31,2011 at 8:00 am I was driving about 40 mins when I approached a stop light. I turned the A/C on and noticed a plastic smell. I turned into the gas station to investigate. In less than two minutes my entire engine compartment was in flames. The car is a total loss. My vehicle was not included in the recall that could have prevented this. Dodge is responsible!

While I was driving with the air conditioning on I noticed the left 2 vents were coming out warm air. A couple days later there was a mist coming through the only 2 vents that work. I took it in and was told my heatercore/heater housing was broke. That would cost $900 to fix. Also I have had my car stall 6 times, mostly when it is raining and I am coming to a stop sign or stop light. I took it in for that but they couldn't find anything. I also had the clock run 2 min fast every day or two. That had to be updated which doesn't make since to me since it is a 2008 car. It should not need an update on the clock. That was $50. The car has 56,000 miles on it.

I bought a 2008 Dodge Avenger in July of 2009. From the time that I purchased the car I have had nothing but problems with it. The front driver door latch would malfunction causing the door to come open and/or not shut at all. This happened twice. Dodge corrected it the first time but refused the second time. My left speed sensor went out and had to be replaced; the airbag light would come on and stay on and Dodge told me the defect did not include my VIN number; my car gout stuck in park and Dodge would not help me with that either. On June 30, 2010 while driving on hwy 41 in port charlotte Florida my engine compartment burst into flames. There is a recall on my car as to this defect also but, once again, I was told by Dodge that it did not include my VIN number. I have been ran in circles for one week with no answers or assistance from Dodge. I have only asked that they provide me with transportation until the cause of my engine fire can be determined and yet again, no response from Dodge. I felt in fear of this vehicle and called Dodge on several occasions asking that they do something about it.
