As I was driving my 2010 Dodge Avenger through a parking lot at a very low speed, all the sudden there was a very loud scary grinding noise that came from the engine area. Parked the car quickly and tuned off the car. Called my husband and he met up with me but of course the car would not make the noise for him. It actually never happened again. We did not end up taking it in so we never figured out what caused that noise.

I had this noise from my car about a month ago, so I took it to three different shops and they couldn't find the problem. One shop recommended Dodge dealership. I went there and I was told it's the alternator and this problem happens to 2008 model of Dodge Avenger. The total cost of service was about $530.
