My vehicle was at the dealership in service for SEVEN weeks. Chrysler was willing to chip in $0 because they ‘Just couldn’t do it’. My vehicle is less than ten years old but due to the year and mileage of my vehicle Chrysler was not willing to help in any sort of way. No incentives and no rental. This is a bogus reason to blow me off.
When my check engine light turned on my twins girls were three weeks old, this left my wife at home with no vehicle. If an emergency happened she would have been stuck at home because I need a vehicle to go to work.
Waited four weeks for a part to find out that part was faulty, but I wasn’t told this, I was told the vehicle went into limp mode and are still looking into the issues. This was a stall tactic to wait on that same part to arrive two weeks later.
I have always owned a Dodge vehicle, 20 years, and have taken my vehicle to have serviced for 10 of those when I bought a new Dodge vehicle. I also have been taking my wife’s vehicle in here for service for 7 years. I have been a loyal customer but due to this service, or lack of, I blame Chrysler for their terrible customer care.
Due to this horrific experience I will no longer be purchasing a Chrysler product.

It's the gear shift module. I bought the car used in 2012. I wasn't told recall work had been done on it. The module is not working again. It gets stuck in park....will NOT go into gear.....I HATE THIS CAR!!!!Now trying to get the part replaced again, as I've been told it is still covered under the recall, but the dealership says, oh no, it's not!!

I had the DTC Codes read By AdvanceAuto. DTC Codes of P2004, P2017, and P0700.
After researching the problem codes, they read as follows: P0700-transmission Control System (mil Request)
P2004-intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open P2017-intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor Circuit High
The same thing has happened on a 2009 Dodge Avenger Check

My vehicle is a 2008 Dodge Avenger manufactured in 2007. Called Dodge about the Recall. My vehicle does not fall under this recall.
Explanation of codes from research says: PCM, TCM Module may need reflash and/or Intake Manifold Runner is stuck open, may need to be replaced. If Intake Manifold needs replacing it will cost about $650-$700. It may need an onboard computer reflash. This could cost about $200- $300. However, If the dealership fixes the problem, they must first put it on their computer and diagnose the problem.This will cost you $150.00 today (7/29/12).
Does anyone with a 2008 DODGE AVENGER HAVE THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM?

The engine failure while at a light or actually driving started in 2019. I took it to the Dodge dealership, and they kept it for about a week. Which cost about 500.00 and the receipt says replacing the Solenoid pack "may or may not fix the problem. I went to pick it up a week later. I paid inside and went out to get in the vehicle and the check engine light came right back on. At this point was told to make an appointment bring it and leave it. When I called to take it back we were under Pandemic and they had no staff. Was told it could be the alternator.
I knew nothing about codes at that time. Took it to another shop which did put a new alternator on for 900 dollars and guess what, I was unable to get a passed inspection from 20-2022 so the car had been sitting in the driveway. I contacted Chrysler /Stellantis, Dodge or whoever they are and they sent me to another dealership which charged me 120.00 to diagnose what I already knew. They said the Solenoid pack put on at the other Dodge dealership was bad. I would have to get it replaced myself again because it was out of warranty. Was told that it also could be wiring. Took it to another shop left it for a week and they changed the wiring harness that goes into the TCM. That was another 500 and some change. It ran perfectly was able to get it inspected last year and then guess what. The check engine light came back on. Naturally even though the repair was under warranty they said they had no idea what it could be and maybe I need a new Transmission. I CRIED! The check engine light came back on! I am trying to locate the picture of one of the Solenoid packs (because I have replaced it twice)
Most recently would be May 2023 which still did not turn the Check Engine light off. The next thing was the TCM which everything has been replaced and still this vehicle will start to jerk when accelerating. In July I had a new TCM put in and the Check engine went off. I got it inspected and I'm trying to get rid of this problem for good. Have no more money to but in it. Cleaned it up, took it around to a couple dealerships and for a 1 owner, never been wrecked or damaged and today sits at 77,541 miles.. the offer for the 2008 Avenger was $1,000. So here I am with a vehicle I have put so much money in the corporate office is of no help. I feel like Avenger owners have been effectively scammed with this vehicle. Scared to drive it thinking I might not make it home without a TOW. Other 2008-2010 Avengers at least made it to 200 Thousand Miles..I have no ideal what to do. Sell it for a Thousand?
