Avenger 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,500 miles

At 100,500 miles the car just quit. I had to bring it back home limping, 1 gear for 1 mile then rest for 20 minutes, then 1 mile more and so on for 35 miles. The transmission was running perfectly , I parked, went in to see my daughter and grand babies for approx 30 minutes and when I went back out to the car it was like this, no kidding, started it up and it was slipping like crazy.

I got quotes from everywhere because there was no way I could afford the dealerships outrageous prices of over 3 grand. Got quotes from Local mechanic's here and they were from $2300 to to $2700. None wanted to mess with trying to fix it, they just wanted to replace it. I ended up getting another transmission and replacing it.

I have had many other issues like this with this car, another just arrived. P2004 this after the transmission is in and running TODAY. Intake runner Valve! REALLY? !! also this car has had 3 alternators in it already counting the original and this last one now. all these problems with zero help, no warranty. The alternator is some kinda screwy new invention crap that is designed to free wheel in the case that the car does not absolutely need to have it running by way of some special bearings on the pulley. well they are flawed, thank GOD I bought the lifetime warranty one from auto zone and I have the ability to do it myself because the dealership wants $800 for the job! Have to list this in another window, I just read that. So look for more from me. Paint, pcv, intake runner valve, intake manifold, electrical NIGHTMARE, no manual for this till Aug 2014. Rear wheels non adjustable set at the factory WRONG so its wearing the tires out, gas shocks on the trunk and more.

  • Automatic transmission
  • 177,256 miles

My car did not give any warning. No warning light or anything. the car just stopped. The car was not slipping or jerking. There were no warning signs and I have a problem with this. I am now without a car and I feel that I should not be the one to fix the problem being that no WARNING SIGN WAS GIVEN!

  • 106,254 miles

This is the newest car we have in our yard and we have 12 cars so I'm a huge Mopar fan I loved my Dodge Avenger, great gas nice car and after installing tv's and sound extra nice. Since July of last year its been setting up due to damn Dodge trans and I feel that it should have a tsb hell Im a mechanic and I know how to fix my own after paying 1634.22 for a new trans and before that I paid 66.21 for service to tell me whats wrong and then I purchased a shift solenoid which was 398.21.

I want my freaking money back or my car working, I can't get rid of it because I only owe 2800 on it. Until its paid for so I'm stuck with it setting in the driveway looking nice cuz my wife makes me wash it twice a month so shout out to DODGE you have really lost me as a valid MOPAR fan.

Avenger SE 2.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 24,855 miles

My car would just automatically shift into neutral while driving down the freeway and would kick back into gear whenever it felt like. The check engine light came on, so I took it to the dealer and the transmission was shot. They ordered me a new one on May 19th of this year and I am currently still waiting for my car to be fixed. I have called the dealer numerous times as well as the customer service number and I am not getting any answers as to when my car will be fixed. Customer service went so far as to say "Don't call us, talk to the dealer.", so what is customer service there for then.

Today we finally received a loaner car from the dealer even though at first they told us we did not qualify for one, complaining sometimes helps I guess. The only story that I am being told is that our transmission has had a design change and Chrysler are switching suppliers, plus this transmission is still going through product testing. They can tell me all of this but not when I will get a new one. "It's on order." and "I don't know when the transmission will come in." are the only answers I get. For all I know it could be another 2 months before my car is fixed. The next car I buy will definitely not be a Chrysler product.
