We bought this car used with 3 year warranty from drive time. From first time on freeway we noticed at 70 mph started death wobble. Took it to dealers mechanic and he said nothing wrong.to get the balance done. We have had the balance done, all 4 tires replaced with manufactures suggested size tire, and still get the death wobble at about 70-74 mph.

2008 Dodge Avenger all four valves on the vehicle are corroded and have broken off. One tire is unable to even receive any air into the tire. This is a safety issue!!!! I am very afraid that this will cause harm to me and my family. I went to a mechanic who told me that he has seen this happen on many Chrysler/Dodge vehicles and that it is a manufacturer defect. I was told to go to the dealer ship and that they may replace this for me but was just handed to the side with a phone number. When calling this "safety" number I was once told again that they could and would not do anything for me. I have read and heard that this is a huge issue on the make of this vehicle so why is Chrysler not doing anything to fix the problem" what will this take" I cannot afford over 500 dollars to fix a valve issue that Chrysler is reliable for.

Purchased my 2008 Dodge Avenger in April 2008 and have had nothing but problem after problem with it first the air bags were recalled then the latches on the doors were recalled. The tire pressure sensor light just never goes off most recently the fuel pump went on the vehicle costing me close to 700 and now the alternator which is going to cost me another 600. What kind of vehicle did Dodge build. This is some bs an all of this is while the vehicle only has about 65000 miles or less N it.

The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated the caps on all four tires were corroded and caused a failure with the valve stems. The contact received a low tire pressure reading and took the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer stated the caps were corroded and was told if he removed the caps, the valve stems could break and need to be replaced. The contact replaced all four tires and valve stems on the vehicle. The failure mileage was 36,000 and the current mileage was 49,000.

I was traveling in my '08 Dodge Avenger SXT w/my son making a left hand turn around a corner & vehicle just turned off by itself w/O warning. Went head on into oncoming traffic & went up onto a curb. Put vehicle into park & restarted it. The vehicle has to date shut off on us 6 X's. the even when incident happened was we were just driving the car-going home. The vehicle gives no signs, beeps or warnings that it is going to shut off. It just shuts off by itself. It has occurred a total of 6X's so far. I took the vehicle-which is still under original factory warranty-to the Dodge dealership & notified the dealership where vehicle was purchased of the issues w/the vehicle. There are also recalls that were not fixed & electrical issues as well as transmission, brake & tires issues that are still as of this date not repaired because they "could not duplicate the problem". the dealership had the vehicle for 13 days before telling me the computer needed to be "flashed". they did that & car still stalls out when stopped @ stop signs or lights. They told me they do not know why it turned off on me & why the steering locked up & brakes locked up when it turned off. So therefore they cannot tell me that they know why the car has died & that the issue is even fixed! they will not say that it will not turn off on us again. I have researched online several sites (popular mechanics, etc.) & see that I am not the only one this has happened to. I bought this car to be able to have a safe, reliable & dependable car for me & my son. My son has cerebral palsy so I have to drive in this car. I feel that its 50/50 when we get in this car & that everytime could be the time when we're going 50 on the interstate in a turn & the car turns off & we hopefully don't die! I feel that this car has a major defect or flaw in its design somewhere. I love the car but I am scared to drive it now. I do not want me or my son to die in this car! its only a matter of time before someone does. Thank you.

One days after driving from salt lake city airport to park city, Utah, the Dodge Avenger's tire pressure warning light came on. Fearing that the tire(s) were low, I stopped at a gas station and filled two tires. As soon as I put the pump on the third tire, the valve cracked off and all the air came out of the tire. I replaced the tire with the utility spare. I took the car to a tire shop, and the gentleman at the tire shop told me the valves on these cars break easily. The tire shop had to replace the valve by ordering one from the Dodge dealer, and the part did not arrive for two days. The approximate cost for replacing the valve was $90. For the two days during the repair, the car could not be taken on the expressway. I kept the broken part of the valve.
