I AM FILING A COMPLAINT BECAUSE I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK 9PM AT NIGHT, I LIVE AN HOUR AWAY FROM MY WORK. I AM 65 YRS OLD, ALONE, NO FAMILY HERE, I WORK AND GO HOME, I KNOW NO ONE. I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 40-42 MPH IN A 45 MPH AREA AND MY CAR JUST SHUT DOWN. I HAD LIGHTS, OUTSIDE AND INSIDE BUT THE ENGINE JUST STOPPED. I HAD NO BRAKES, NO POWER STEERING AND I FREAKED OUT. I MANAGED TO GET MY CAR OVER, TURNED ON THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS, PUT IN PARK, PULLED UP THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, TURNED OFF MY LIGHTS, AND JUST SAT THERE FOR ABOUT FIVE MINUTES. I FINALLY REALIZED, I HAD NO ONE TO CALL TO HELP, OR TO EVEN COME GET ME, SO I TRIED TO CRANK THE CAR. IT CRANKED AND I TURNED ON MY LIGHTS, TURNED OFF THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS, PUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE DOWN, AND EASED OFF AND MADE IT HOME GOING 50 MPH ON A 70 MPH INTERSTATE FOR ALMOST AN HOUR. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH. THIS IS GEORGIA AND THESE DRIVER'S DON'T CARE. I, AGAIN, AM ALONE, I HAVE TO WORK, AND I DO NOT HAVE MONEY FOR THIS. I HAD JUST A LITTLE OVER 6 DOLLARS IN MY CHECKING ACCOUNT, NO SAVINGS ACCOUNT, AND I HAVE NO CREDIT CARDS, AND CANNOT GET CREDIT. I NEED THIS FIXED BECAUSE IF IT IS THAT I NEED THAT PATCH FOR THE PCM, DODGE SHOULD PAY FOR THIS. THIS IS NOT JUST A ONE TIME ISSUE, THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL I HAVE READ ABOUT. THIS SHOULD BE A MANDATORY RECALL! PLEASE ADVISE ON THIS...PLEASE!!!!

The 2008 Avenger is really junk. I am bringing it to the dealership for fixing on Monday. There is no more warranty on it, (75,000 miles) ,but with all the similar complaints on this very topic, I feel the car needed to have many more recalls. The car has an obvious loud flapping sound when I turn on the Air/Heater, and you can hear another buzzing electronic sound when calling for the heat. Subsequently, if the engine turns over, there is no guarantee, that it will turn over once I turn the car off. Several times, I have returned to the car after shopping, and the engine won't start. The battery produces lights, radio, and power to the windows, so the only way to start the engine is to jump start the battery to turn engine over. Also when in traffic, the engine has started to just stall out for no apparent reason. The loud flapping sound comes out of the passenger side under dash. Do I have a possible broken vacuum hose where the heater core hose goes in ???? Please help, anybody!
