I was driving down the highway this has happened I believe atleast 3 times now, all of a sudden while driving not sure if a specific speed but I was going atleast 50 mph each time, the steering wheel seems to lock up for a good second or two which is a long time when your going that speed. It's extremely scary and the first time it happened I didn't know if it happened or not than it happened again not sure how long after and that's when I was like ok maybe that steering wheel did lock up before than when it happened again I knew for sure it was really happening cause I had a friend in passenger seat who witnessed this. Now it's been a while and my car all of a sudden won't start and my steering wheels will not lock. I've replaced sensors tried deleting codes. The codes I got were wrong immobilizer key and low voltage. Doing as much research as I have for the last week buying and trying things I've seen a major problem with these cars is a security issue and it can shut your car off as your driving normally.thia is dangerous and for as many complaints how is there no recall on this

While driving the car will stall out; I was driving on 3 lane highway going about 70 mph and was barely able to get it off to the side due to no power steering. Another time I was at a stop light and when light turned green and I pressed on accelerator the car stalled and a trash truck nearly ran into the rear of the vehicle. After the vehicle sits for a few minutes it will restart; then fail again. Repeat procedures and it will run a while longer. This has been happening for the last 4 days at least 3-4 times daily.

The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that the steering wheel locked and the vehicle crashed into a fence traveling at 30 mph. The contact had tried to turn the steering wheel but failed when the accident occurred. As a result, the bumper was dislocated and the passenger side tire was damaged. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the police station. The dealer thunderhawk auto sales located at 638 N interstate 35, cotulla, tx 78014 830-399-0559 stated that the vehicle was fine when he first sold the vehicle to the contact. The dealer later texted the contact to remind her to still make the vehicle payments. The vehicle had had many of mechanical issue since it was purchased. Dashboard lights up without warning; dealer failed to correct or report when first purchased vehicle in 2011. Now in 2019, dealer denies record despite having given us loaner Jeep and Chrysler 200 in separate occasions. In 2019, car lights up randomly, engine stops while driving on freeway or in regular street traffic or turning at an intersection, and dealer reports unable to correct. Extremely hazardous. Worth a lawsuit. Dash lights up, engine shuts off, steering wheel locks, car sometimes starts again but not always. We paid the dealer to fully replace the crank sensor but that isn't fixing it. Tpm sensor warning appeared and isn't going away despite dealer stating it should. Replacing psi sensor did not correct this system warning either. Dealer said warning appeared 518 miles before we took it in but the error occurred on 5/12/19 and we took it in on 5/14/19, only driving about 15 miles from 5/12 - 5/12/19. Either dealer lied or info isn't being held on computer's memory. Tired of almost getting crashed into because the car randomly dies.

While driving my steering wheel locked up and the brake would not engage while the engine was still running. And this has happened about 4 times within a couple of months.

The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Avenger. While driving 5 mph, the vehicle made an unknown noise from the two front wheels. When driving over a bump in the road, the contact lost control of the steering. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 11V315000 (steering). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 88,211.

I bought this car brand new off the lot and have owned it for 2 years. The back of the car sways in the back, which I did not notice this at first being the driver, but passengers did. As time went on it got worse and I began noticing it in the front. The back end sways anytime you hit a bump and in the winter the back end is all over the place. I've been driving in winter weather for 10 years now and never had so much anxiety until driving this car. The back end makes hollow clicking noises from time to time like something is going to just "pop off". the steering wheel pulls to the right (even after all alignments, tires checked). When you attempt to push on the gas after being stopped the car stalls a great deal. The left rear suspension has been replaced already, the sway bar tightened, camber bushings done and there are still issues with the above but the dealer states "nothing is wrong". I have had my car in the dealership numerous of times for all of this not to mention the bubbling of the paint on the hood, the trunk leaking water and a few recalls. I plan on trading this car in asap and will not be purchasing another Dodge. I spent way too much money on a car to have this many issues with barely 20,000 miles on it.

Front end makes a popping noise from the passenger side on uneven terrain at all speeds. Dealer couldn't find anything and I had the first tire rotation at this time. We took our first road trip (approx 1700 miles round trip) and noticed vibration on trip. Found tire dust covering rear of car and rear fender wells. The rear tires had almost completely worn through the innermost tread. Dealer performed an alignment check, said front was slightly out and corrected it. Left front was -.7 camber and right front was -.7. at 1500 miles the dealer finally agreed to replace the tires through the good year prorated warranty, claiming the ware problem was a tire issue. We are now at 18000 miles with no signs of excessive tire wear. Popping noise in front in seems to be getting worse, dealer once stated they tightened the cradle bolts. It had no effect. We again have vibration at highway speed and the rear end wobbles back and forth on uneven terrain.

The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Avenger mainstreet. The contact stated that while driving at any speed, the steering wheel vibrated and pulled to the right. The front tires also wore prematurely. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failure. The dealer balanced and aligned the front tires. The engine was also lifted to inspect the motor cradle. The failure was not corrected. The steering wheel continued to vibrate and pull to the right. The front tires also continued to wear prematurely. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 5 and the current mileage was 9,000.
