Yesterday I replaced the front wheel hub bearings and during that process I noticed the steering wheel would turn without the key on or even in the cylinder. At first I thought maybe it is doing this because I have the car on jack stands even though I know cars normally don't turn without the key on. So I continued with the wheel bearing and when I was done, I tried turning the steering and behold it turned without the key.
I shut it down after the test drive and locked it all up til this morning. I unlocked the doors and sat inside and yes turned the steering wheel a full turn to the right and left. This does bother me a great deal living in the nation's highest vehicle town. I was wondering if anyone else with a Avenger has this same problem?
