Like many others here, I've had no heat on the passenger side. I took it to the dealership today and was told that the heater core needs to be replaced to the tune of $1,400. At 55,000 miles. Are you kidding me? Clearly, Dodge knows that this is an issue given the number of identical complaints yet, when I called them (as suggested in another post here), I was informed in no uncertain terms that there was "nothing we can do." Unbelievable! This was my first Dodge and will definitely be my last. If you're considering buying this make/model, or any of their other products (given that they're knowingly fleecing their customers), DON'T.

I bought my Avenger exactly 4 years ago, and since I pulled it off the lot my heat on the passenger side hasn't worked. I haven't had it looked at before because I usually drive by myself so it really didn't bother me. But now the driver side heat is starting to lose heat. I have had contact with Dodge but they told me that it is only under warranty the first 3 months or first 32,000 miles. So that option was out. I drive 45 minutes to work and this morning I pretty much froze all the way to work. I am going to have to break down and get it checked out to see exactly what the problem is, I am just afraid it is going to cost a small fortune.

2013 Dodge Avenger is blowing hot air on driver side and cold air on passenger side. Replaced the blend door actuator behind the glove box. That only fixed the clicking noise. Problem still exists. Apparently Dodge doesn't stand behind their products. Will never own another one. Guess Dodge requires 50% of their vehicles to have the problem before they recall it. Ridiculous.

Began in November; blowing cold air on the right side and luke warm air on the left side. Tested thermostat which was OK but decided to replace it anyway. No go. Hoses (top/bottom) were both warm. No leaks. Fluids full. We were stumped so I took it to the Dealer.

They replaced the thermostat again, replaced a lower hose and finally replaced the heater core. Heat was back. yay so we took it home............only for this to begin all over again on Christmas Day.

Augh!

This is ridiculous with 62k miles. Back to the dealer it goes again..............

I noticed that the passenger side heat does not work and it actually is blowing cold air. The driver side vents work great and blows warm/hot air. Warming up and defrosting the car takes a little longer than usual, which is frustrating (since I live in Erie and the whole nation knows what our current winter is like). The temperature outdoors is 5 degrees...wind chill will bring it to negative 20. My car needs to be fixed but I don't have $1200 for the fix as I have been reading in other places. Has anyone else had this issue fixed? I plan to call my dealership and inquire if it will be covered under warranty, but who the hell knows. Probably not based on what I have been reading about Dodge not stepping up....way to go.

No heat on passenger side: Started searching this issue and found many other issues the same to mine. We are in the process to find out the problem. Not happy that dodge isn't fixing or putting a recall out. This will be my last dodge. Poorest quality of a car I've seen. Has anyone been able to fix the heater having cold air on passenger side? The driver side heat is little just slightly warm. I can't keep my windows from fogging up.

Update from Jan 6, 2018: Took my car to dealer, they reversed the hoses. Didn't work, took it back, doing a full flush of the engine. The dealer is getting many calls about this issue. A car owner had the radiator replaced and after 1 yr he came back with no heat again. The dealer is calling dodge. I'm also getting a phone number to call and they said dodge will help. I'll post the number when I get it.

Update from Feb 28, 2018: Our dealership went to bat for us, they called this number after we had called.800-992-1997

They paid to fix our car. New radiator, thermostat, heater core, fluids. Even threw in a oil change!

I have heat!! Praise God!

I bought the car new and have had it serviced regularly, 90% of time at dealership where purchased. Passenger side heater started blowing cold air. Dealer says Chrysler aware of problem with heater core. They offered for Chrysler to furnish new heater core but I would have to pay $600 labor to have it replaced. My extended warranty purchased when I bought the car is refusing to pay labor because dealership says there is "sludge" in the coolant system. I have never even had radiator cap off on the car as it has never gotten hot nor had need to open cooling system up. Dealer tells me it is nothing I did and that there is something with the cooling system on this car that causes the sludge to develop.

Again Chrysler is said to be aware of the problem but has not furnished solutions or even suggestions to change coolant any sooner than 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. I have to get car repaired to keep driving back and forth to work. My question is whether or not it will happen again and how soon. Can't get thru winter without defroster for sure. Very aggregated with Chrysler and Advantage extended warranty company.

I bought this car brand new with seven miles on it in January 11, 2013. It should not be blowing cold air on one side. This is ridiculous!!!! Dodge needs to take care of this. I do not blast my heat either. Never have. I turn it up half way most times and it's blowing cold air on one side.

I believe that when a company has knowledge of a severe problem with its product, it is the obligation of said company to fix those problems if only to keep customers happy and ensure repeat business. I will never, ever, own another Chrysler product again. I have had to go into debt just to fix a problem that I should never have had to deal with. The car is only two years old for Pete's sake.

I think there needs to be a class action lawsuit brought against the Chrysler corporation and I would be the first to sign up for it. I loved this car when I first got it but I wonder now what else is going to go wrong and if the warranty will cover anything at all. I should not freeze to death everyday just because a company is too cheap and corrupt to fix it. I want my 1200 dollars back.

I'm so fed up with Dodge and this mess after seeing what was 13 other reviews with the same problem and nothing being done about it. I know for sure now I will never buy from Dodge again ( I can't believe that they don't care much for the buyer) my wife's car only puts out cold air on the passenger side of the car. This is a family car and we will be getting a car from someone other then Dodge soon. It was bat blending and messed up before it got to 34000 miles and was still in the first year of us owning it.

This is a newer car....It's a 2013 that was built in Sept. 2012.....It's got 43000 miles on it and we live in North Eastern Pennsylvania.....It does get cold here....

My wife complained the passenger side vent was only blowing luke warm air....I checked it and sure enough it's only luke warm while the driver's side is blowing real hot air....I thought maybe because it's -5 degrees out but that didn't make much sense....So I called a repair shop that works on heating and cooling systems and they told me they have been seeing a lot of Jeeps and Dodges due to an elongated heater core getting clogged up.....They stated they have been purging the cores and that works most of the time but since Dodge decided to use a super thin metal on their heater cores it runs a risk of damaging the core which will cause a $1200 repair bill....They also stated it is castings from the engine block that is blocking the cores.....

Dodge refuses to cover any repairs to the heater core, even if diagnosed and completed at a dealership.....So you buy a new car and get stuck with a $1200 bill right away.....Way to go Dodge
