brake rotors warped at 2500 miles, dealer said they are ok
I have owned 13 Dodge vehicles. Have ALWAYS been a big Dodge/Chrysler guy. Our last 3 vehicle were Journeys and now I have a Journey and an Avenger. Now on my Avenger ...I reported to Dodge service that at 2500 and at 7k the rotors felt like they were warped. I was told they are ok. this continued. I had the oil changed and asked to check the brakes and I was told they were ok (still pulsating and grinding). Now they are soooo bad that its embarrassing to drive this car. The dealer now tells me that the vehicle is over the 12k and they can not do anything to help me except replace the rotors and pads on front and back and charge me. THIS IS CRAP!!! I have been a faithful Dodge owner....even in their DARK DAYS!!! im now looking to possible go to ford. Im disgusted at the arrogance of Dodge to say they can not help, when they know this is A HUGE issue on their part. All you have to do is go on the internet and look up "dodge Avenger or Journey brake issues" and there are a ton of complaints and even more service bulletins on this issue. I mention the Journey because they use A LOT of the same parts......see a connection here ??? Dodge thinks that the consumer is stupid. I spoke with a local Mechanic(former mechanic for dodge/Chrysler) and he told me THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH these rotors and pads because Dodge typically undersizes these and then charges the customer for the repair at an astronomical cost as service not covered. I was told to replace them with a thicker rotor and better pads and you will never have the problem again. IT JUST SUCKS THAT I HAVE BEEN SOOO FAITHFUL TO DODGE AND THEY DONT GIVE A SH*T.
I THINK IM DONE WITH THEM.

As soon as I purchased my Avenger, I noticed the brakes squeaking! It only had 200 miles on it when I drove it off the lot! I complained to the dealership several times while it was still under warranty and the dealership stated that it was normal for that model car to do that until the brakes heated up. After my warranty ran out I took it back to the dealership and complained again! At that point the technician said that the brakes were glazed and I needed new rotors and brakes all the way around! I was very upset to say the least and I will never refer anyone to that dealership to purchase a vehicle nor to have a vehicle worked on! I had the brakes and rotors changed (Brand New Rotors) myself and within a couple of days they too are squeaking and scrubbing! My brake light comes on at random and lord forbid if I need to use them for stopping fast! I've had to slam on my brakes a few times over the years and it always scares me because I slide instead of stopping! What can I do? It looks as if there should be a recall on the brakes as well by reading all these complaints!!!
