The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Avenger. While reversing at approximately 10 mph, the rubber brake pedal cover became detached when the contact attempted to depress the brake pedal. As a result, the contact crashed into another vehicle. The contact shifted the vehicle into drive and crashed into a building three times due to not being able to find the brake pedal. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 17,000.
