Caliber SXT 2.0L

  • CVT transmission
  • 54,200 miles

Premature brake wear on front and rear brakes for a second time since original brakes. I am a very slow and cautious driver, therefore this issue was beyond me. The car is a money pit.

Caliber SXT

  • Automatic transmission
  • 21,000 miles

A week after I bought this car, which had around 21k miles, I noticed that the brakes made an annoying squeaking noise. Not all the time just whenever. I took it to brake repair place and they stated that nothing could be found wrong. I know this year had a brake release recall which was fixed so I have just chalked it up to that.

Caliber LS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,000 miles

I am a Chevy person; but the look of the Calibur really appealed to me for some reason. After owning vehicle couple months took to dealer for squealing brakes. Was squeaking again before i got home. Since dealer was 1/2 hour away, went back couple weeks later. Was told Chrysler knew about this and had been working on it for over a year? Several trips to dealer (which always seemed to take up half my day), Cleaned, adjusted, new brake shoes.......never fixed. and the dealer was no longer cooperating. Finally this year i traded it in for a Ford Escape; and I love it. Will never own a Chrysler product again.

Caliber SXT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 66,000 miles

If it's not one thing it's another... my breaks sound bad, and it's irritating because I don't stomp on my breaks or abuse my car in other ways so why is this happening? I just think it's too soon to have to replace my breaks

Caliber SXT 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,641 miles

Car only has 30,000Km(driven 90Km average daily) and squeaks at every stop. Returned to dealer and they said I needed "service" to remove rust from brakes and calipers not covered by "bumper to bumper" warranty. I thought it was warebars on brake pads was not. I did not have "service" because tech told me that rust would return and posed no problem with brakes. I will take apart and put some brake pad anti-squeel but in the meantime I drive with CD player cranked...can't hear squeal :)
