Caliber R/T 2.4L

  • CVT transmission
  • 54,216 miles

engine started knocking , getting louder by the week. Then detonated. I used to have a Ford Pinto back in the 1980's, and it was an extremely better built and superbly more reliable car than any DODGE CALIBER!!! With all of the work I have done to this car , I.E....suspension 3 times, engine , cvt transmission , front crossmember , and now a 400.00 - 600.00 tipm module that will leave you stranded because Dodge is all about the MONEY they make and NOT about the real working class people. Please DODGE, if a financial crisis EVER occurs again.....Just do EVERYONE a favor and just go out of business. America does not need a company like YOU!! VERY SINCERELY YOURS ...A VERY TIRED AVERAGE WORKING CLASS AMERICAN.

Hmm? Does Dodge know how bad "detonation" can be on an engine? I can't figure this B/S out and neither can their technicians? I have replaced the knock sensor (even though it did not code). I change the damn spark plugs more frequently then I should be (very little change afterwards). Ran the higher octane gas (which was just stupid of me). Called Dodge, talked to a tech about "advanced timing" and if this could be my issue. He told me to bring it up, they will hook it up to their computer system (for $40) and then they will charge me for every software download needed. REALLY? WTF?? This is the WORST car we have ever owned. It had one owner before us and now I know why he dumped it as quickly as he did! I have 2000 GMC Jimmy with almost 300,000 miles on her and she NEVER acted this frickin' bad???
