airbags didn't deploy in collision airbags didn't deploy in collision airbags didn't deploy in collision

My Husband was driving to work same way he had for a year. It's a windy road and in one of the bends he was driving, going 40, and didn't see the tree in the road until it was too late. He swerved to try and miss it but went over the ditch, off the road and down into another tree. The Caliber was a smaller car especially when it came to the height of the dash, he is a taller guy. But 40 mph to a dead stop you would think those airbags under the dash would deploy, but nope whiplash and f*cked up knees. Later all Dodge had to say was "the seat belt did what is was designed to do" and sent us a f*cking pamphlet on seat belt safety. I wasn't asking for much and my husbands injuries weren't major. However we bought a broke car and I wanted the $3000 I had paid for this broken car to be replaced. But no someone has to die in order for a car to get recalled.

airbags didn't deploy in collision airbags didn't deploy in collision airbags didn't deploy in collision airbags didn't deploy in collision airbags didn't deploy in collision

I was involved in an accident on the 10th of April 2013 whereas I was broadsided by a pickup truck, which caused me to go into a backward spin, which I did three times. On coming out of the spin I crashed head on into a parked vehicle. At this time the engine shut off and my car was still rolling backwards until I got the mindset to put my foot on the brake. The glass on my driver side has shattered when the truck hit me and I heard screams, people running and they were pretty fast getting me out of the vehicle. The silver piece under the car in the back was on the ground and they did not know if this was the gas tank or not. Most importantly, there were no airbags to be seen.

This car was equipped with side airbags, driver and passenger airbags, and not one of them deployed. I purchased this vehicle brand new and I made sure the adjuster checked to make sure they were in my car. They were. They had no answer for the airbags not deploying. When I contacted a lawyer about this issue I was told that they could not do anything about it because I was not PARAPLEGIC, PARALYZED or DEAD!! I got very angry because I should not have to be DEAD for something to be done about faulty airbags, and, that also means that all DODGE CALIBER owners are driving and taking chances on winding up DEAD, PARALYZED or PARAPLEGIC just to get something done about it.

This law needs to be changed to protect the Consumer and not Big Business. Perhaps there are other Dodge Caliber owners who have had this problem who said nothing about it because they were told the same thing I was. Help me to get something done about this law. We spend a lot of money for our vehicles NOT TO BE SAFE IN THEM. gooker26@hotmail.com

My daughter was involved in a collision last night where she rear ended a stationary vehicle at 40mph. Not one air bag deployed.
