Car was about 3 months old - approx. date October, '09. Backing out of driveway car fills with gas fumes. Has happened subsequently, when idling, or "almost idling". Tail pipe under wagon too short, and points down, There is no easy fix. Chrysler corrected this on the 2010 models. Exhaust fumes penetrate step plate and inside bottom of rear passenger door depositing a smelly, black film. My problem is that the dealership and the Chrysler warranty complaint department or whatever their official title is, DO NOT BELIEVE ME, because just like the previous issue of grinding noise, you can't duplicate this any time you want it to. So if the mechanics can't duplicate it, therefore it doesn't exist. We are two senior citizens with the extended warranty, and I suspect the powers that be are playing a waiting game - that is, maybe we will expire before the warranty expires. Now that's a horrible thought, isn't it.
