So, I was driving my van most of the day, under higher than average hauling weight, and I noticed a few symptoms:
-Lower rpms Idling 700 compared to normal 1100 with or without A/C
-Power steering would pull a little then go back then pull and repeat. almost like a pulse -Loss of power
-One stall, prior to this one but I was getting ready to turn it off and I was pretty sure it stalled.
-The last week longer than normal cranks to start, however still fairly quick
Anyways here's how it went down, I was stopped at a red light downhill A/C on. Talking with my other 8 (most heavywieght which put it under a lot more stress than normal) passengers and then when I go to take off I notice it had stalled. We get it pushed to the nearby gas station and crank on it, no higher than 200rpms and never seems to respond to giving it gas. (Though I know its EFI so maybe its not supposed to) A once over of the fuse box shows a blown fuse in slot 2 the Engine slot. I replace it with the aux fuse, crank 3 or 4 times, and it blew that fuse too. No error codes were being thrown, engine temp water temp normal. Only check light was the Oil but that would only come on during ACC not when running.
176,900k MI The only other problem was the A/C was draining into the car on the passenger side, and had it absolutely DRENCHED. maybe it shorted something? Gas tank was halfway full, so it if was the fuel pump I doubt it would have kicked in. I've heard you can run it on a full tank without the pump. Did not test the relays, but did check fuses only fuse 2, Engine Fuse, 20A Blade fuse was blowing. Indicates a short, but where should I start. It was probably 150mi of driving at this point. Tried starting it in N and P in the case that it was the Neutral Safety switch but it turned over in both gears.
Left my Stranded! Way away from home!
