Caravan 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission

the way the body for the caravan comes from the factory, the strut towers under the hood have small oblong holes put in them at the top, sealed supposedly by these small rubber grommets. being that they are made with layered sheet steel for strength they are at high risk for rust, because water can get IN BETWEEN the layers and rust out your towers in a period of a year or so gone unchecked. the rubber grommets are almost useless at preventing this, so i decided to go and buy some gasket maker from a hardware store and smothered it in the hole after first applying penetration oil to the rust to stop it from continuing. 2 years later the rust has not moved any more and the strut towers are nice and strong.
