Airbag light came on and would not go off. Horn would not work,thus in N.C. the van could not pass inspection as the horn must work. The problem was a recalled part, that of a Clock Spring. Since this was a recall I did not have to pay for the part or labor. However, after this part was installed the cooling fan stayed on all the time and even would come on when the van was cold if I applied power to the battery. I'll describe the fix for the cooling fan problem, which cost me $591.30. Before I had the Clock Spring work fixed at the dealership I did not have the issue with the cooling fan. Of course the cooling fan staying on all the time quickly drained the battery and left me "dead in the water". Once again I emphasize that prior to having the recalled part put into my van, the cooling fan did not stay on ALL the time. I had to get the van towed to the Dodge dealership where after getting all fixed(cross my fingers) I was charged the $591.30 which I resolve was the action of installing the recalled Clock Spring and that I should not have had to pay anything! The cooling fan fix was a new battery $174.25, Relay Mini(not sure what this is as I am no mechanic)$20.02, Relay Package $112.92, Relay 20.02, $22.00 for shop supplies(whatever this that means) and finally labor. I was at the Dodge dealership 08/17/09 for this fix for app.5 hours. The Clock Spring work as done on 08/11/09 and right away after leaving the dealership I noticed the cooling fan staying on and not stopping when I cut off the engine. I had to go out of town and got back late on Friday 08/14/09 and was without a vehicle that weekend due to the cooling fan issue. I spoke with the service manager about the cooling fan issue on Monday, but he would not take responsibility for the problem, so I end up paying the $591.30. I intend to dispute this payment with my credit card company.
