Caravan 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 88,000 miles

I have a 2000 Dodge Caravan v6 with some severe rust. The vehicle does live in New Hampshire, so a state that uses salt. The vehicle has been washed, but that doesn't seem to have done anything. The rocker panels have all but crumbled and they have already been repaired at least once in the time we've owned the vehicle. The rear wheel wells have some nasty rust that is going to require quite a bit of sheet metal to fix. Oh and one of the engine mounts has rusted apart as well, that's not a safety issue or anything. I'm not sure if this belongs here, but we've also had to replace the brake lines.

I want to like you Chrysler, but this vehicle hasn't even hit 90 thousand miles yet and could be looking at being sent to the junkyard.

Caravan

  • 60,000 miles

We own both a 2000 Stratus and 2000 Caravan. Both vehicles have identical problems of rust bubbling up from underneath the paint on the hood on the passenger side of the vehicles. When we took the Caravan in and showed them the problem, while it was still under warranty, they told us that they could not/would not repair it as it has not broken through. I look at this unsightly hood every time I get into my car.
