problem #2

Dec 082009

Caravan 3.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 118,061 miles

The car does not start, and it takes me lot of time to start it after lots of efforts. It looks as if the starter has stopped working but after few time struggle, it starts. But this problem aggravates when it is cold.

(reported on)

Caravan ES 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,500 miles

We just bought this van not even 2 weeks ago, it was a 1 owner van with only 62k miles on it. We bought this van because our GMC suburban is getting old and 'unreliable' even thought it has yet to leave us assed out and here we are with this new barely used van and were stranded not getting home until 4:30 am from the previous night! I have done much research and found this to be a common problem along with many others with this make and model, i suppose it could be worse and it could have stalled on the freeway while driving like many other complaints about the van not starting back up have reported on other site. i will report my findings as to what the issue is once we figure out for sure tomorrow. Damn defective mess. More complaints [including my own] can be found at http://www.topix.net/forum/autos/dodge-caravan/TQ5PLFI02ESA2UHC4/p6#lastPost i suggest all reading that have issues vent at the previous link too, they are pretty helpful there and at least you know your not making this stuff up!
