Caravan 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 64,000 miles

While my wife was driving the van, van completely shuts down. Smoke coming out form under the hood. Gets towed to local shop. Mechanics baffled, gets towed to auto-electric shop. They won't touch it. Now at Dodge dealer. Electrical system completely fried. Negative cable melted off, every fuse & bulb blow. Tracked problem back to power train control module. Haggling with dealer over warranty and repairs now. Even Dodge reps did not know to read page 9 of manual * years/80,000 miles" warranty on power train control module.

Dealers problem now, he can keep it!

Anyone know how much it would be worth to repair or even how much the van is worth as parts?

Caravan EC 2.4 V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,000 miles

The car kicked in to anti-theft mode; lights flashing (headlights and brake lights). The car does not have an anti-theft device on it, this is a stripped down version (economy). The powertrain control module malfunctioned, sending out signals to devices that the car does not even have. The only way they could get it to stop, after removing nearly all the fuses was to replace the control module.

This is the third major problem we have had with this van. The ignition tumblers froze on it, we had to replace the ignition tumblers and keys to the tune of over 300 dollars. The EGR computer failed, costing over 300 dollars. This car is a piece of junk. NEVER buy a Dodge. They are poor in quality.
