This knock, knock on and on I took to different shops but no one knew what was cause and now they say I need tie roods on both sides inside and outside but they think the struts are making the knock. I just spent over 209 dollars on brakes. can any one help?

Update from Feb 12, 2011: I went to Jim Burke Auto Repair spent 900 + dollars for front bushings, ties, struts, alignment and stopped the knock.

Caravan SXT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,191 miles

I had a rumbling noise coming from the front end of my car. The outer tie rods and sway bar bushings were bad. I had them replaced which minimized the noise a lot. Six months later or so the noise came back. I had the bushings replaced again. This time it did not take care of the noise. I had three mechanics look at it and I was told the outer tie rods were bad again and the sway bar links were also. I thought this was weird because I had the bushings and tie rods replaced. I am going to try getting the link fixed tomorrow to see if that takes care of the problem. I know, I am stupid for sinking money into junk. DON'T BUY A 2005 DODGE CARAVAN!

Caravan

I bought this P.O.S. minivan in 2004 (brand new) and I've managed to regret it ever since I drove it off the lot. We got the base model, so nothing extra included, not even a luggage rack. The vehicle did it's job for the first two years and then it sat for another two years while my family and I were overseas. Needless to say, with only 35,000 (mostly highway) miles on it, the piece of crap still breaks. It started with a subtle rumbling coming from the front end. Over time, the noise got worse and I knew it wasn't something as simple as worn tires. Now I'm faced with a problem that I understand will cost me considerably, not to mention will be time consuming.

Caravan LX 3.3L

  • Automatic transmission

Had the parts replaced at 40K. The problem was back at 70K. Two other people I know had the same problem with low miles on their vans. This van has been a real P.O.S.

Caravan 3.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

IT HAPPENED AT 30,000 and the dodge dealer told me that it was maintenance. At 30,000 I they should not have been out and that should not be a maintenance problem till it has over a 100,000 miles on it. when it hit 50,000 they went out again. That is just a bunch of crap. They shouldn't have been replaced the 1st time.
