I took the van in for an oil change at Dodge. They told me the front brake pads needed to be replaced @ 23,000 miles. Really, is this van built that cheap. Afraid so.

Please read entire complaint...My Dodge Caravan was purchased in 2007, it was new... A 2006 Year modle with only 3 miles on it at purchase. The brakes have been been replaced twice and are out again. Of course, it was out of warranty just at the first required replacement!!!!! This means... once I replace them again today;counting the set on it at purchase, I have GONE THRU 4 SETS OF BRAKES IN 3 and a half years!!!! This is way too expensive... Dodge ... wake up before this problem starts killing people due to brake failure!!!!! We need help! Anybody out there have suggestions?

We are constantly changing our brakes, I know 4 others with the same van and we all have the same problem. I just replaced everything all the way around in January here it is almost April and again they need to be done.

I've had the vehicle for three years and have had to get the brake system replaced twice due to corrosion. I don't consider myself a hard breaker and have tried to be extra careful but they just fall apart! Since I've purchased the vehicle I've put in close to $2500 worht of repairs. Selling and going foregin. Enjoy your bailout Dodge and thanks for screwing me over!

I only had 11k miles on my van and my brakes had to be replaced. There is a constant pulsation when braking but the dealership stated that there was not a problem.

I bought this Caravan new in Dec. 05 and since then have had to replace the brakes
3 times. The first was at 11,000 miles. They changed the pads and turned the rotors
that time. The second time was at 22,000 miles. That time I had to fight with Dodge
to get them to pay for the parts and I paid for the labor (79.00). They replaced the rotors that time. The third time was at 32,000 miles. This time Dodge wouldn't do anything about it and also said that the dealership told them there was nothing wrong with the van. Yeah, right! I went to the parts store and bought the cheapest pads they had with a lifetime warranty. I will still have to service the rotors and change the pads, but I won't but another set of brake pads though.

This van has been driven lightly, it only has 14,000 miles on it and we've owned it almost 2 years. I was very disappointed when I took it in to have the oil changed and tires rotated, and a 23 point inspection, and they found the brakes had only 10% left on them. I'm totally disgusted to be spending money on brakes for a van with this amount of miles.

EXTREMELY UNIMPRESSED WITH BOTH THE LEVEL OF SERVICE AND THE COST OF REPLACEMENT. DID NOT EXPECT TO HAVE TO SPEND $500 ON REPAIRS ON A CAR WHICH IS ONLY 18 MONTHS OLD WITH LOW MILEAGE.

I was driving in the mountains with my some of my family and noticed the right front wheel brakes were smelling more than the other wheels, replaced the brake pads, have not been to the mountains since then, but after reading some of the complaints i may need to change the caliper on the right front. Seems that is a big problem on Chrysler products.thanks.
