problem #2

Mar 012017

Challenger RT 5.7L

  • Manual transmission
  • 65,000 miles

My issue is the same as others on this forum: Rust just in front of the rear wheels. Passenger side has been slightly rust bubbled for 3? years or so. Drivers side just started. About 2 inches in diameter on both. Mainly bubbles in the paint at this point. Only a couple of small rust bleed-through points.

Challenger RT Hemi Vi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 77,480 miles

i have rust on both sides of the car

I can't believe in this day and age that they can't manufacture a car that won't rust despite being garaged and always cleaned as soon as possible when it snowed to get the chemicals off of it. And that Chrysler/Dodge won't stand behind their product even if it is after warranty. It was explained to me that it is manufacturing defect that they are aware of. Something about a piece they put inside the wheel well for noise but it also holds in moisture and they apparently might have stopped doing it that way. It happens in the trucks too. Well that doesn't help the people who own it now. I even offered to pay some on fixing the problem but they refused. I would like to know if anyone else is having the similar problem. I planned on keeping this car forever but not with the rust on it and I can't afford the thousands of dollars to get it fixed the proper way.
