ABS Module Failure. All repair parts discontinued from 2008-2014 for Manual Transmissions. Safety issue will not allow operations of Anti lock brakes

There are no parts world wide to repair the ABS brake module.part # 68067398ab. I have contacted Dodge srt department @(855)778 8326 case # 35139693 and tried for 2 months to resolve this issue. I received a call today stating the part was no longer made and there is no dealer who can supply the part to make the repair. They would no longer be working this case and could /would not be able to help with the issue. We did keep the recording of this call as it was left on our voice mail. This is part of the braking system and also controls the anti skid system putting the driver at risk of not being able to control the car.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The technician was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000.

Upon starting to accelerate from a stoplight the car suddenly accelerated on its own & the brakes would not work. Their was a vehicle stopped at the next intersection (4 way stop). To avoid hitting them I went to the right of the stop sign. There was just enough room in between the stop sign & a telephone pole. I had shifted the car to neutral, & finally got it stopped in front of a house. I was very shaken up by this & called my husband. He said he would be there asap. A man came out of the house & asked me was I ok. I told him what happened & let him know my husband was on the way. When my husband got there, he got me calmed down & said he was going to try to drive it cautiously to the dealer. I followed him in his car (Toyota) & we made it to the dealer without any other incident. We called Chrysler corporation & they opened up a case file (29522357) trying to get information from Chrysler, my husband left multiple messages for them to get the status on this. He finally got them & they said they couldn't duplicate the problem & they were closing the case. I was charged $130 from the dealer for diagnostic test. Now I have a car that I am afraid to drive & can't conscientiously sell it to someone else.

Purchased new in 11/2010. 2 years into ownership, on about 4 occurances, engine would shut off, loose steering control and brakes at the same time while making a slow right hand turn. Problem disappeared and thought it was a fluke of some kind. Now 3 years later it has started doing it again every time I drive it. When the engine dies you can barely steer and have to really pull hard on the steering wheel to keep from going into oncoming traffic. Brakes do not function properly either, you loose all power braking and it is very difficult to stop. I have searched the internet for this issue extensively. What I have found is about a hundred other different individuals on several forum sites describing exactly the same problem. Nobody had an answer to the problem and found just as many different things that people said were wrong ranging from ECM failure to several different modules and loose connections. When it first started it would only occur when slowing down and making a right hand turn. Now it does it at any time no matter whether sitting in a parking lot or driving on the street. You have to turn the key all the way off and then turn it back on to start it and there is always a delay from the time you do that till the time it responds. This is a very dangerous safety issue and a recall should be done as so many people have had the same issue without it ever being clearly understood what was causing the problem.

Dealership couldn't find anything problem with car after July 7, 2012 event. They couldn't find problem this time either and sent me away with a phone #. they told me to file a case with Chrysler. Case #23728724 filed I believe after July 7, 2012 event.

Car shut down/powered off/turned off on it's own, while driving. Rapid automatic down shift of gears braking from about 65 to turn/while turning left onto side street on road. Car died after steering wheel began turning to left and car was turning. Lost power steering and power brakes. Nearly slammed into embankment and blocked intersection area. This was specifically scary as people drive through here fast and visibility is very short. After this event and the event in July, I became afraid I could die in this car. I took it to the dealership. They said a few error codes were saved in outer car systems that showed communication with PCM had been lost. They were replacing the PCM. However, replacing the PCM did not correct the problem. It has died 3 times since I started driving it in the spring this year. This is dangerous!!! the dealership refuses to investigate further. Please help.

Car turned off/shut down by itself while driving, resulting in loss of power steering and brakes, for the 7th time. Speed relatively slow around 30 mph, and not turning sharply. This is the 1st failure on the newly replaced PCM but 7th total since I bought the car new.. Dodge/Chrysler says this is "not serious" because there are no error codes saved in the car and they cannot duplicate the failure. They say if it was serious, there would be a code. They are not willing to look/ investigate further because there are no codes and it didn't die on their test drive while hooked to their diagnostic equipment. Service manager gene at waldorf Dodge said the srt help center/case manager recommended changing the transmission fluid & perform tune up; both performed 15K miles ago. (ridiculous. This is how women get treated at waldorf Dodge. He also told me the srt Challenger has a timing belt in the front of the engine-not). This is dangerous!!!

The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Challenger. While driving at approximately 20 mph attempting to engage the brakes, the vehicle made a grinding sound and failed to stop. As a result, the contact's vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle and the air bag failed to deploy. A police report was filed and the contact sustained unknown injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to a body shop, where it was determined that there was no brake fluid in the reservoir causing the brakes to seize. The vehicle was repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15V444000 (air bags). The manufacturer was notified about the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

While drivivg on my way home doing about 60mph in the right lane on the expressway and the car completely shutdown, the engine light came on, I couldn't even steer the car, the steering wheel locked up no breaking capeability, had to let the car coast into the emergency lane, luckly there weren't any cars in front or behaind me. Which could have been fatal. While in the emergency lane put the car in park turned off ther ignition, turned on the ignition put the car in drive and the car would move, put it back in park turned the ignition off again, started it again put in drive.

2010 Challenger srt8 with automatic transmission. 7800 miles. Traveling approximately 25mph. Had to apply brakes hard to stop. Engine stalled. Had to put in park and restart the car. After restarting, put the car in drive and it would not move. After a few seconds transmission engaged and car was functioning. Could have been much more dangerous.

While coming around a sharp left bend in the road of a winding road my car stalled and I had a very hard time steering and braking to get the car to a complete stop. I was very lucky that I didn't end up in the ditch and also very lucky that the driver behind me was alert and did not crash into the back of my car. I restarted my car and it seemed to be ok. I have had my car for sometime and this is the first time I have ever had a problem with it. Doing research on the internet I found numerous other postings about this same problem, but there have been no recalls or service bulletins about it.

Driving on the freeway home late from work at 65 mph, without warning, the engine stopped. No power, no power steering, no power brakes. Put car in neutral to try and restart: Would turn over not start. Had to get to the right shoulder expeditiously and was stuck there w/ a concrete barrier to my right. Car would not start, with 18 wheeler big rigs blowing by me at 65 mph stuck in the car. Extreme danger. Had to get it towed 16 mi. To dealer at 8:30 pm. Extreme safety issue to me and commuters around me--dead car, no warning, while driving on the freeway. Please address with Chrysler Corp. As this is a known extreme safety issue!!! took to dealer and said the timing chain broke. Huh" at 36,500 mi.?"!! completely unsafe and unacceptable. I personally will not trust this car ever again--getting attorney and will lemon this thing for my family's, and fellow commuters' safety, and, imho, the NHTSA should investigate and force a recall. Clearly Chrysler is not addressing the issue and putting the public's safety at risk. Now that the NHTSA knows about it, they too must address this issue, or, be complacent and implicitly responsible for any deaths or injuries resulting from this fatal, widely known--search google for "Challenger R/T timing chain failure"--design flaw. Thank you for addressing this extreme safety issue.

My 2010 Challenger srt8 with automatic transmission stalled when making a right-hand turn at approximately 5:00 pm on 9/5/12. Engine was at normal operating temperature and the ac was running. I was travelling at about 35 mph and began braking to make a right turn into a service station. As I started into the turn at about 10 mph, the engine stalled resulting in loss of brakes and power steering. I was able to complete the turn and stop the car with hard brake pressure. No indicator warning lights appeared on the instruments. I put the car in park and restarted the car, but the transmission was inoperative. Neither drive or reverse would engage. I did not notice any warning or alert lights indicating a malfunction or transmission issue. I stopped and restarted the engine again and the transmission engaged and worked normally. There were 6800 miles on car on 9/5/12. The vehicle was purchased 10 days ago, and tsbs were checked before the purchase. No mention of engine shutoff issues are listed on the NHTSA database of tsbs or recalls. I did not check customer complaints. If I had, an knew to check about stalls, I would not have purchased this vehicle. Considering the severity of this issue, the number of complaints on this database, and the fact this issue has been going on for the last 4 or more years, NHTSA should initiate a defect investigation immediately. More than one person has stated on this complaint forum that this is a life threatening condition and hopefully someone doesn't have to die to get Dodge to solve this problem. Too late. Check out complaint 10395526. Apparently someone did. But the complaint doesn't show injury or death and it should be corrected.
