On many occasions, 2007 Dodge Charger R/T would stall when accelerating in traffic. The gas became unresponsive but kept running , When I pulled the car off the road, it took about 15 seconds before the car gas pedal responded. After much research which I printed out and took to the dealer, they surmised that it was due to a plastic part which had worn where the speedometer cable entered the transmission. The wear allowed a transmission leak , (I would like to mention here that Dodge in their own design decided that owners were not smart enough to check their own transmission fluid, so they eliminated the transmission dipstick and replaced it with a cap stating dealer serviceable only.) Once they replaced the plastic fitting with another and refilled the transmission, the problem went away. Hope no one is injured due to this cluster of a decision.
