problem #1

Charger RS V8 Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,500 miles

I bought this car used in 2014 with 35,000 miles on it. Shortly after I noticed a rubbing, slipping sound coming from the transmission whenever I tried to accelerate when going up an incline. I brought it to the dealership and they said I needed the transmission to be serviced and to be re-flashed. The problem seemed to go away for about a month then came back. I brought it in a second time and they said it was a solenoid that was covered under warranty. They didn't have the part so I brought it back a third time. They repaired the transmission and of course when I brought it home the problem still exists. They don't seem to be able to diagnose the problem. I now have to bring it again for the 4th time in a year to address the same problem.

Update from May 3, 2016: I have now gone back to the dealership 5 times and still no resolution to my transmission problems. They said that it needed a four wheel alignment to resolve the issue but of course this had no effect. They even thought it was the air conditioning compressor but again no effect. Not sure how an alignment or an a/c compressor could effect the transmission and of course it did not. I am now waiting for Chrysler to come up with a suggestion. Seems to me the only solution is a new transmission. There is obviously something wrong with this one that they cannot diagnose.
