On February 5th at 10:45 am we were driving down a busy Las Vegas street when we had an immediate shut down of all power. Dash lights went off and on, wipers went on then shut off, and the vehicle died right in the middle of heavy traffic. The vehicle had no power, no power to do anything, acted completely dead as if the battery had been removed. To have the vehicle lose complete power and to lose the ability to steer the vehicle created an extreme hazard to both my family and to other drivers on the road. We have done research on the internet and have found that many other have had this issue! It appears that Chrysler has identified a problem and has issued a recall for the alternator for the 3.1 liter engine in the Charger, but for the 5.7 Charger they have not addressed the issue. This is unacceptable! The vehicle did not have any prior warning of low voltage or battery problems! The vehicle was running fine and then stops in a hazardous area! This is obviously a problem that Chrysler has already identified and there are many other complaints online regarding the 5.7 liter, that we know this is not an isolated incident. For Chrysler to refuse to provide a recall for this hazard is irresponsible and negligent! I would expect Chrysler to care about the welfare of their customers and that this recall and factory repair be immediately implemented. Chrysler needs to pay for this fix instead of passing on the cost of faulty parts to their consumers. More importantly, they need to issue a recall before someone is killed due to this hazardous situation. Let's hope that's not what it takes for Chrysler to step up and do the right thing. This is a real safety issue!

Well Saturday night I was driving my car leaving my uncles house as I turned on the street I noticed that the dash said battery saver mode just as I noticed that my car automatically shifted in to neutral and rolled to a stop the engine was still running and I couldn't put it in park. Then the dash said turn off engine to put in park, so I did then BAM the beginning of a bad night.

The car would not turn back on it had very low power and I could barely lock and unlock it . So I proceeded to my uncles house which was about 8 blocks away and as we returned to the car I got it and it fired up so I drove it to my uncles house where when I got there it did the same exact same thing! The whole nine yards! And now my transmission light was on so I am really stumped on this one.

The dealership says the alternator is not covered but the damn car is only 2 years old my alternator should not be needing replacement this has to be a manufacturer mistake. Once I get this alternator thing fixed I'm taking to the dealership to check my trans in my opinion this is retarded and I shouldn't be having to pay to replace my alternator! I will be flexing my legal muscle on Chrysler corporation about this situation!

Its sad for a car, that I have had under a year, to shut down while driving. Luckily I wasn't on the highway somewhere with a lot of traffic. The Dodge dealership think they are going stick me an expensive bill, that's why I purchased the extended warranty. I will go to Corporate with this matter if I have too, its shame when you purchase extra warranties and the dealership still tries to make you pay something. I say hell naw not me.

I have a 2012 Dodge Charger. My son was driving and it just quit with no warning. I took it to the dealership thinking it was under warranty, but not so. It's only 3yr/36000, so you know I'm pissed. The car is only two years old. The alternator goes out. Now they're telling me it'll cost at least 810.00 to repair alternator and they don't sell after market. Dodge is the worst because I'm reading all these complaints and no recall yet

While I was driving on the highway my Car stopped suddenly and that was unsafe act form the car thanks to god no one hit me. then the car stop responding to do anything, I tow the car to the DODGE Maintenance workshop . The maintenance team check my car and informed me that they want to open the Engine to check the problem and to solved it.

and this is my problem i chose dodge because of the hemi engine reputation. open the engine because it's not believable that 2012 charger hemi engine defect like that after one year. anyhow, they open engine and they are doing engine overhauling for a hemi engine and this not believable and unsafe

i wan't to know if hemi engines is reliable or not because engine problem are expected after five year from the manufacture or the usage
