Almost every morning as I'm pulling into my parking spot at work, the car shudders as it comes to a stop. I know it's the tranny as the 8 speed transmission doesn't know what gear it should be in. Make a turn and the tranny stays in 5th or 6th. It doesn't downshift unless you jump on the gas.

I had been looking at the Charger for a couple of years before buying and was really pleased when I found a 100th Anniv. Ed. in the color I wanted. The car is packed to the gills with options, but, the 8 speed transmission leaves a lot to be desired. I was on the fence between the 6 and 8 cyl. I watched reviews about the antiquated 5 speed transmission in the 8 cyl. and I'm 49 years old and don't think I'll be racing off the line with kids in their cars (I'm an ex-cop)

If it shifted as it's supposed to, the car would be a "10". I've read here and there about the 8 speed tranny issues/problems with previous years. I've read where Dodge said there's nothing they can do, Haven't heard of any recalls but also heard the computer needs to be electronically reconfigured and the tranny needs to "re-learn" how to shift properly.

Some people have said, the reconfiguration made no difference at all. If nothing can be done about this issue, I wouldn't hesitate to dump the car and get something else.
