The mechanic was made aware that the air bag warning light illuminated after the recall remedy was provided. The mechanic was informed that prior to the recall repair the air bag warning light was not illuminated. The owner was provided an estimate of $300 for the cost of the repair. So I thought my recalls had been fixed but I kept receiving phone calls and letters that I still had recalls on my vehicle that needed fixed. On Feb 15, 2018 at about 2:00 P.M. my vehicle was involved in a collision. My son was driving on a city street, and rear ended another vehicle going about 25 mph. Airbags failed to deploy during side impact crash the other vehicles air bags did deploy. Accident was in a parking lot but there was significant speed, impact and damage. Impact was such that it pushed the Charger sideways over a curb and up onto a grassy median. Driver hit head on door and suffered mild concussion and is still suffering headaches and body pain. Our contact at the repair shop expressed surprise that the air bags did not deploy and also the SRS indicator was not lit.
