The tilt feature on the steering wheel of the consumer's 2000 Dodge Dakota shorted out a wire which caused the headlights to go out. The problem occurred when the vehicle was 16 months old and recurred 12 months later.

The consumer found out the low beam wire at the multi-function switch had broken at the connection and shorted out.
