After a day of moderate off-roading, Next morning when started cold vehicle, All lights on 4WD Selector switch flashing and "Service 4WD" light on dashboard. 4WD would not engage.
Disconnected battery terminal and reset PCM. Restarted vehicle, Light off and 4WD working properly.
Next day, Same problem, Same solution.
Entered an area of slick mud, engaged shift on fly 4WD selector switch to 4H at 15MPH. Light flashed, 4WD would not engage. Susequently got stuck in mud. Turned vehicle off, Reset PCM, started vehicle, engaged 4WD and got vehicle out of mud.
Took vehicle to Dealership. Diagnostic found that Transfer Case control Module overheated and shorted out.
Unknown how could have happened. TCCM located above fuse panel, internal dash. Small medium blue plastic box, approx 4"x4"5" with large bundle of wires plugged into one side. No possible way of moisture entering box.
Replacement cost $798- $100 deductable on extended warranty.
