During stops the rpms on my 2005 Dakota will go erratic. The rpms will go from a few hundred to over 3000. The vehicle will stall and has to be put into park and restarted. No service engine light will ever come on. I have had it at the dealership were I purchased the vehicle 3 time for this problem and they can find nothing wrong with the it. The last time I took it in to have this problem it stalled in traffic that same day I was told they could not find any problem with my truck. This is just one of several issues I have had with this truck that the dealership could not find a problem.

At random, my vehicle will shut off or die causing me to loose the ability to steer. It can stall while waiting at a stop light, or turning left. Most recently it stalled while I was turning left and I almost hit a parked car since I had no steering. This has happened about 12 times. One time it happened 3 times in one day. I have brought it to the shop and they could not find anything wrong with it. Its seems to stall after I was stopped and waiting or when I decelerate.

The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Dakota laramie. The contact stated when it rains water is sucked up through the air intake and forced to the back of the engine, causing it to go into the pistons. There was no place for the water to go so it broke the number five piston. The consumer will have to cover the expense of having the vehicle repaired because the repair will not be covered under the warranty. The dealership will have to pull the head and replace the number five piston. The contact stated while driving the engine light came on, and the vehicle started missing.
