9 days after we purchased a brand spanking new Dakota the damned thing stopped working. My husband took it into the shop and we were informed that since we didn't buy the truck from the local dealer and we didn't purchase the extended warranty that we could not a get a loaner. We were okay with that since they told us that it would just be a couple of days. On the day that we were supposed to pick up the truck we were told that they hadn't fixed it and it would be another couple months. My husband phoned Daimler Chrysler and talked them into giving us a rental so that we could get to and from work. Long story short, it took several phone calls, 2 months, new cylinders, a new head.. okay well a whole new engine piece by piece, and they found out that a computer had failed but Daimler didn't want to replace it because it was vin specific. So they replaced everything but the broken part. My husband also phoned the dealer and asked for a truck or something to help us get through working different schedules with only one vehicle and they hung up on him. It was all around a joyous experience.
