The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that after releasing the parking brake, the rear passenger-??s side brake vault release failed to return to its original position. The contact had to release the brake manually by going underneath the vehicle and using a crowbar. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the actuator had seized, and the caliper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V124000 (Parking Brake) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. While engaging the emergency brake, it failed to hold. There were no warning indicators illuminated. When the contact pulled the emergency brake up, the calipers became stuck and failed to release. The brake was constantly rubbing against the rotors and caused the brake shoes to heat up. The contact stated that the calipers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact have the vehicle repaired and, if a recall were issued, he could be reimbursed. The failure mileage was 64,197.
