Had to replace brake lines on both sides in front twice less than a year apart and was driving down the road when brakes went out almost causing an accident on the highway. After line was replaced about a week later was driving on a gravel back road when clamping on brakes occurred on one side could not even move vehicle at all..didn't have the proper tools to fix and was stranded 20 miles out in the woods. took it to Les Schwabb had the brakes and rotors completely replaced now brakes grab i skid when try to stop or i about throw us through the windshield while barely applying brakes...one extreme to the next!! Not to mention it cost me about 750 or so total and still is not right!

FIRSTLY BRAKE LINES SHOULD NEVER RUST OUT ON ANY VEHICLE BECAUSE SUCH A SEEMINGLY SIMPLE PART CAN RESULT IN DEATH AND DESTRUCTION( THERE'S MORE TECHNOLOGY IN CUP HOLDERS), SECONDLY THESE CLOWNS RAN THE MAIN LINE ALONGSIDE THE GAS TANK WHERE IT CONVENIENTLY GETS EXPOSED TO ROAD SALT & MOISTURE. MY SOLUTION IS TO PURCHASE A COATED BRAKE LINE OF SUFFICIENT LENGTH THAT YOU ONLY NEED TO FLARE IT PROPERLY AND THEN RUN THE LINE ALONG THE FRAME NEXT TO THE DRIVESHAFT AND SECURE IT WITH RUBBER LINED CLAMPS

was driving with my 2 small children in Durango and brakes got spongy and then didn't work,i was able to stop truck by using emergency brake.i found the problem was that the brake line had rusted so bad that it leaked all fluid,i contacted dodge because there was a recall on brake line rubbing against gas tank causing premature leak in line,i couldn't find out from them if it was repaired ,and bought used so have no record of being done,contacted the bbb and they went back and fourth with dodge and end result was not under warranty and would not be fixed> i am able to repair myself due to knowledge on some repairs ,turns out they don't make brake line and you have to make it yourself or add a few lines together to get length needed to reach front to back,i fixed it and am trying to get money from dodge for parts and my labor which i am only charging 50.00 dollars an hour not there 100.00 dollars so they should be glad to help me out ,i will post what happens when dodge gets my letter with defective part and charges,i think all car co should understand that brake lines and other parts that can kill someone if they rust through to make them out of a material that will not rust !! IS A SIMPLE FIX AND WILL SAVE LIVES
