well it was a pain but after running some test i saw that i had relays heating up and wire well over the norm , i added extra ground wire to the body and the engine , and that helped a bunch, i always beleive its better to beef up components like this for no future promblems, but it was just a bad place for the auto company to save a couple dollars

o my god where do i start
we got the car from someone who said it came from up north. months later check engine light would come on and it wouldnt drive any diff. then one day it stopped coming on and then it came on and wouldn't shift right.
got solenoids changed and then they said they had to rebuild transmission so they did
5 months later started again
they changed torque converter so they say and its shifting better but not normal. now the freaking thing wont start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well it will but sometimes after 30 mins..it makes a clicking noise and says that i dont have fuel, but as soon as it says i have fuel it starts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Girlfriends Durango is a pain in my ass. Since I told her she wasted money to take her other car to the shop for a simple brake job that cost her 400. buck..lol she said from now on I get to fix all her cars.. lucky me. any how. the problem with the Durango this time is after turning the car off. it makes a clicking sound from around the glove box area. the car always has a dead battery and the head lights wont turn on. Park lights still work. I think this is 2 different problems. I will report back once I find what is making this sound.

I started having this problem on 10 30 06 I shut it off and there is a clicking noise in the area of the glove box. Everything goes dead, what is really strange is that the clock in the radio cancels but the preset stations stay I don't have to reset them. After I let it sit for a while sometimes it will come back by itself. I tell you it really sucks!!!!!!!

Same complaint at the previous person. I went to my car after school and it didn't start... no lights nothing DEAD feeling. but then a clicking noise came from the glove box (pretty loud), my keys were in my had when the noise started. I did notice that when i tried to turn on my headlights (no lights came on) the clicking stopped. Tried to jump my car but nothing. Tried to jump it again 3 hours later and it started but it would idle, the only way to keep it running was to step on the gas (not fun for me trying to get home from school). I decided to get a new battery anyway and that worked. I don't know how or why, but i cant afford to check it out right now. but the battery i got new is like 2" bigger than my old battery.

So i stop my car, and it starts making this wierd clicking noise, it sounds like it's coming from the glove box, the interior lights wont turn on, and it wont lock, and it wont start, i touched something under the glove box (just plastic i think) and it stopped clicking, the lights came on and it started... what the hell? it's really annoying since i have to drive to the city from school and the last thing i want is to be stranded in downtown denver.
if anyones had this problem please let me know how you fixed it, i'm a poor college kid and i can't afford much

i just bought my durango 4 days ago and last night i went out to start it cause i need to leave and the lights flashed and wouldnt start. i took the keys out and it started making this clicking noise in the glove box. i left it alone and tried to start it again this morning and it still wont start and is still making the clicking noise. im going to try to get a new a battery cause thats what seems to help everyone else but this care is already a pain.
