Vehicle dies at stop light. I push it to the side of the road to investigate. Vehicle engine cranks but doesn't fire. On odometer display it says no bus. Fuel pump not coming on when ignition is turned on. I walk to parts store and buy fuel pump relay, or circuit breaker. Put it in, fuel pump comes on engine starts. Wife is driving it two days later. Vehicle dies in busy intersection. Nice people push her off the road way. She calls me, I tell her to take circuit breaker to parts store and get new one. She replaces breaker, she's on the road again. So now I do some reading find out circuit breakers just get hot stop working, cool down and work again. So some thing is drawing too much current. Replace the fuel pump and filter, big pain in the you know what. Vehicle dies two days later. Nice man pulls me off the road. I leave vehicle sit for an hour. Vehicle starts back up. So I just go on vehicle dies on me all the time. Fast food lines, busy intersections, it dies every where, every temp. I don't let mommy drive it anymore. I don't trust it to carry my baby anymore. I cant sell it. I have read about people having same exact problems. They say replace fuel pump, did it. Replace computer, did that. Several years ago dealer ship put new computer in cost me $1200. All for a problem similar to this one. Vehicle died at stop lights, but started up right away. I have replaced so many parts, every thing is new. I cant trust it. Its very unsafe. I cant knowingly sell it to some body. Thanks Dodge.

I have a Dodge Durango 1999 it keeps on dying for no reason sometimes it starts back up in 15 minutes or so but there are times when it doesn't start at all until the next day, I change the gs pump three different sensors more than once each took it to different shops they always change the same things it shows that is on empty (no gas) when it does have gas it also shows the no bus light im frustrate it I I've spend so much money on it and I depend on it to get me and my 7 month old baby around the problem started about 6 months ago please help. Dodge really needs to do something about this because this is a big problem that hasn't happened to one or two people there are hundreds out there plus the ones that haven't said anything.

My 1999 Dodge Durango has a leaking gas line hose that goes to the fuel tank. The complaint I have is that I checked with 2 Dodge dealerships and both told me that the hoses were not available and not made anymore. The one that is leaking is the filler hose that is 14" long and has a 1" I.D. it looks like it has been rubbing against something and is getting gouged up and now has a hole in it. I have check with auto parts places and was told that this is not a common gas line filler hose. I know the vehicle is over 7 yrs old, but only have 76500 miles on it. I ask one dealership what was I supposed to do, junk my vehicle, and he said yes that sounds like a good idea. Please help. I would also like to find out if there are any other people that are having the same problem, and any other recalls. This SUV was bought by my son, new in 1999, and I purchased it from him in 12/2004 with 50,000 miles on it.

My Dodge Durango (1999) started stalling at random times two summers ago. It took me many trips to the dealer and alot of research on the internet and a yell fest with the Dodge field rep. But I got it fixed. They had no idea what was wrong with it, it is the PCM(power control module).....finally convinced them they didn't want a lawsuit on their hands if my family was killed due to this major defect in Durangos, mainly 1999 from what I have read. PCM replaced, no problems with stalling since.

I have a 1999 Dodge Durango with 73,000 miles. We had the transmission replaced and other major repairs done to it last year. Since then it has given us nothing but trouble. This car is our family car so we travel everywhere with the kids in the back. It has stalled and died on us often. At times on the freeway in the middle of traffic and other times in the middle of intersections. The power steering goes and so do the brakes. I have been lucky so far in avoiding accidents. The mechanics can not find out what is wrong with it so nothing is done about it. The fuel lines have been checked and replaced and so has the fuel pump and the same problem continues.

The right rear window motor had to be replaced since it abruptly stopped working. But the real problems are with the car all of a sudden dying while driving normally on the road, causing the power steering and brakes to fail making it almost impossible to steer out of harms way if you find yourself admist a lot of traffic. Once the car dies it usually starts right back up again after a few minutes, but it has become so unpredictable that I'm afraid to take the vehicle back out on the street! the milage now is at 48000 and the problem started occuring at around 40000 first rarely but now more frequently.

There was a very strong smell of gas on the outside and the inside of the vehicle. The consumer felt the recall was not completed (recall number 98 V 184 000).

Consumer took vehicle into the dealership for recall 99V342000 repairs/ fuel leakage. Mechanic did additional work on vehicle without consumer's permission. He performed brake work, cleaned the rotors. She picked up vehicle on the same day that she left it at dealership. Consumer was six miles down the road and noticed black smoke coming from vehicle. She pulled over and smoke was coming from the wheels of all four tires. Vehicle had to be towed, and the vehicle is at the dealership again.
