problem #3

(reported on)

Durango 4WD

Gear shift can be engaged without depressing the brake pedal. It appears that this can be an issue for safety. The rear windows when open at a speed of 50mph create a wobbling in the steering ability as well as discomfort to the ears. Also, the rear windows retract all the way into the door which appears to create a possible hazard. The third seat does not appear to lock in place is there any hazards associated with the seat collapsing in a front end or rear end collision?

Leased. Owner's manual states starting the vehicle brakes must be applied and shifting to any driving range, but when brakes are not applied, vehicle can be shifted into gear. Manufacturer contacted, and stated vehicles design does not have the shift interlock. Problem still exists. Provide further information
