Alright I am over this truck! This is our 3rd winter with either no heat, lukewarm heat or you can have heat if you are sitting still or maybe depending on what you have recently put in you might have heat if you just drive!
I have had several people look at this stupid vehicle and no one knows what the he** is wrong with it. I have replaced the thermostat about 10 times, new water pump, and the heater core is working. I don't know. We have never had one winter where we have just had perfectly working heat!
Before we replaced the water pump the heat would only be warm for about 1 minute then you turn it off and let it set for a few then turn it back on for a minute and have heat again for 1 minute and so on.
So after the water pump the heat will now warm up if you leave the truck running for a long while and as long as you're sitting still it is nice and cozy, but when you start to drive it gets ice cold. Ok? So the next day we had the thermostat replaced and now the heat will only work at lukewarm temp while you are driving, If you are sitting still it is ice cold????????? I just don't get it. WORD OF ADVICE: DON'T BUY A DODGE DURANGO!!!!

The heater is just blowing warm air. I checked the radiator fluid and it fine. Being the beginning of winter is not a good time to find out that the heater is on the FRITZ.But then of course,Dodge always has something great to throw at you.

My heater blows only lukewarm air. During the winter this is really bad when you can't defrost your windows. I read the 99' durangos have a similar problem. Dodge needs to fix the Fu#$!ing problem!!!!

dexcool destroyed my cooling system? get it out and replace with green prestone (after warranty). plugged my engine and heater core, replaced it myself along with the evaporator(a must) take it to a shop you trust and do not be shocked by price, very costly!! new core twice the size and heat better than ever!!!

Can't wait for global warming, we're cold. If anyone has a solution to absolutely no heat, my wife would appreciate it, the kids wouldn't mind either.

I have been working on cars,atv's and all types of motorcycles for over thirty years. Has anyone asked the dodge dealership why on most dodge engines made in the last 10 to 15 years why they chose to route both coolant lines back to the same spot in the motor. It seems to me that the coolant would flow much better if the inlet line to the heater core were positioned on the pressure side and the output line was positioned on the return side. This would force the coolant through the heater core. I can take both lines off of the heater core after loosening the radiator cap and with the engine running at an idle I get very very little coolant from the lines. When i increase the engine speed I get a little more from the hoses. When I hook up both lines and bleed the air from the system the outlet hose from the heater core stays a lot cooler than the inlet line even when the engine speed is increased. The reason for this I believe is that the output line from the heater core is being pressurized the same as the inlet line. Sure hope this helps someone.
