Durango 4.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 138,000 miles

OK. Got this Durango from original buyer so I am now the 2nd owner. After weeks of issues with overheating a new fan clutch total new tune up and system flush the friggin noid light comes on. PO203. NOW after 2 weeks of diagnostic we come to the conclusion it is a driver in the engine PCM. DAYS of work missed because of this issue. Then I read and find out these things are shutting down while driving? WTF DODGE??!! They put this computer in a place where heat seems to kill it. KIDS RIDE IN THIS DURANGO YOU ASSHATS! Have not replaced the pcm yet since this evil vehicle had so many other overheating issues it took up alot of time and money. I should have done more research on this POS SUV before I bought it. So now I have to park it and rely on another vehicle thank god we have a few. This suv is like a rochester carb. it works great but when it starts having issues JUNK IT!! The door locks act funny the ball joints will be replaced under factory recall thank god, the heater core SUCKS!! and NOW THE PCM. I know its all about money cause its a stupid vehicle. Maybe the big wigs of Dodge should drive these things with their families in the vehicle when it dies! Or when a ball joint breaks!! I am looking for a replacement PCM for the god awful thing because I need the vehicle. One day a PCM is gonna go down and take a family or a few off the road! Maybe that will make Dodge happy-you know to kill a few people, WHY? BECAUSE ONLY THEN will they be forced to fix it-otherwise we are all expendable!! There should be a recall on the POS PCM it is in a crappy place too close to heat! Way to go Dodge! Im glad we have a HONDA to rely on and a Mazda and a Ford to cover the slack. THIS IS THE LAST DODGE I WILL EVER BUY I REFUSE TO BUY ANOTHER. If Dodge gave me a friggin vehicle I would rather junk it. Their cars/trucks are sh*t (excuse my bad english) I will fix this pile of crap and more than likely sell it to buy a FORD!! Dodge can take their PCM, oil sludge and sh*tty cooling system and shove it where the sun dont shine! The money in their pockets is not worth my family half my paycheck or time missed from work! DEUCES DODGE I HATE YOU AND YOU WILL NEVER HAVE MY BUSINESS AGAIN! 20 top worst vehicles aint worth the headache!!

Durango 5.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,000 miles

After the check engine light came on, a diagnostics test pointed to the O2 sensors. After replacing both, the check engine light problem was never really fixed. After spending about $2000 to have Dodge's electricians find the problem, they finally found that a grounding wire connecting the body of the car to the engine had broken off. Simply reattaching fixed the problem.

Durango SLT

Check engine light on, with no noticeable problem. Code was for lock up & overdrive solenoids. One place recommended overhaul trans. The place that repair it said solenoids would fix the problem. It didn't. Light on again at 101000 mi. Electronic pressure control solenoid out now. Recommended overhaul. Anyone else with this problem? What to do?
