im having the same problem as everyone else, the pcm on the dodge durango failing. its been going on for a few years, worse during summer months. coming to a stop and the car just shuts off! my wife took it to DODGELAND IN COLA,S.C. told them what was going on and...........you ready.......said it was the alternator! the A/C was dragging down the alternator! so, they replaced it, 400.00 dollars and an 1-1/2 later it was still shutting off. this vehicle HAD some type of recall on the pcm, the info sticker is under the hood with the date. just this past weekend it must have shut off 12 times in 2 days. ive noticed it does it consistently when stopping/slowing on a downgrade

My 2001 Durango will stall at a red light and the engine will die. The dealer can't tell me why. So anyone have a clue? can't keep paying the mechanics.

My 2001 Durango stall out at low idle. Sometimes three times a day. Otherwise it runs good. I replaced the TPS a year or two ago. The RPMs were all over the place seemed like the transmission was slipping. That problem is gone. Now I just need to to solve this stalling problem. Seems like it will idle at 700 RPMs steady then drop down to 500 RPMs then die or climb back up to 700 RPMs. I am not using the A/C at all because it is broken. No check engine light, it does come on occasionally but not when I am having the stalling problem.
Any ideas?
