It's another horrifying Durango tale, as if my brake problems were not enough....
Now we are having problems with the Air Conditioning. When you run the AC it smells like a wet musty mildewey basement! The dealers solution... to have it cleaned and sanitized. Does this work? For about a week the first time it was done.... We tried a different dealer and had a more thourough cleaning and sanitizing done. Did that work, for about two weeks. We have contacted Chrysler now. Their solution? To take the truck back to where we bought it, they will send and inspector down and they will re-inspect the car from top to bottom and see what they feel the problems are. WIll they proviode me with a car while this is done? Doubtful. Am I reluctant about this suggestion from Chrysler headquarters? Absolutely? Why? The truck has been in the shop 1/2 of the time we have owned it (this is our 1 year anniversary) it's been unfixable so far, why now b/c a tech from headquarters is coming? I want the AC replaced since there is a "drain" problem from the evaporator to the casing to the hoses... their suggestion? Run the A/C on max/recirculating and there will be less condensation to collect in the evaporator casing causing less mold and mildew to build up that is causing the stench! Do you see a Lemon Law suit on the horizon? My lawyer does.... DO yourself a favor next time you are in the market for an automobile. Buy an Isuzu. I wish I would have NEVER traded mine in!
