Last year went to work, it was winter time. Went out at lunch, started my car, ran it for 50 minutes, shut it off, went back into work. At 7 am went to go home and car would not start, it tried to but wouldn't. Called for a tow mechanic, said tailpipe was full of snow like I had backed into a snow bank. I did not back into a snow bank, cost $250.00 for the tow and for them to figure out what was wrong. It was really cold and the wind was blowing hard. The mechanic said he drilled two small holes in the tailpipe so the snow could drain out and would not pack in the tail pipe.
On Tuesday January 7 2015, I went to work, did the same as before, went out at lunch time, truck started, ran for like 3 minutes then died, could not get it to stay running. Got it towed to shop, mechanic said there was ice in the tailpipe and had to use a torch to melt the ice. This is bull sh*t. I have never heard of this ever before and I ain't no spring chicken. My stepdad had 3 gas stations and 6 bays to work on vehicles, NEVER has he ever said anything about snow or /and ice clogging up a tail pipe when it gets cold outside. Has anyone else had this problem??????
