THE AIR STOPPED WORKING IN MAY OF 2010. I HAD IT REPAIRED THEY SAID THAT THE SWITCH WAS BAD AND IT HAD BURNT WIRING. NOW ON AUG 1, 2012 THE AIR IS DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN AND COULD THIS HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE WIRING RECALL FOR THE LIGHTS AND WIRING DEFECT.

On Memorial Day (2008), I was traveling home from NC (400+ mile trip) and the A/C kept cutting off! This was a terrible inconvenience due to the fact that it was 90 degrees outside and the traffic was horrible! I waited about 30 minutes before turning it on again. Sometimes I had to wait longer before it would come back on. When it would come back on, it would be on for about an hour and then cut off again. This happened the entire 7 hour trip.

A/c cuts out occasionally, but resets rather quickly when I turn it off for a minute or two. Then it works great .

I am the original owner of this 2005 durango. The air works fine generally but on long trips over 150 miles at high speeds the air cuts out. If I keep it off for 30 minutes or more it will come back on for a while then will cut out again after a while. This has been going on for two years, Arigo dodge the dealer I purchased at has had it in the shop 5 or 6 times up to today and cannot find what is wrong and cannot fix it. My warranty is up and in addition I cannot spare the time and inconvenience. The service manager told me that they have done their best but have been able to fix my problem. I am terribly frustrated and dont know what to do ??????

I have had to replace this pain in the ass resistor every couple of months. I don't have a choice if I want heat in the winter or air in the summer. In the summer I could put the windows down but then I have to try to contend with what has been called the death noise with all the windows down. Your choices are go no where, freeze in the winter or suffocate in the summer. If I had the money I would not be own this vehicle.
