Durango

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,000 miles

almost 2 years agomy Durango began revving rpm when in park or at a stop .Many times it ends up dying altogether however starts back up without any problems .sometimes while at a stop I dont even realize my car has died and it's really a pain and very dangerous especially when there are people who are in a hurry behind me.

Durango

  • Automatic transmission
  • 73,000 miles

While driving around 35-50 mph the RPMs will jump around. This usually happens right before it will stall out. When accelerating it is very sluggish even though it is a hemi, I have to gun it to get going.

Durango SLT 4.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 64,750 miles

This happened when I got the 35,000 tuneup, I brought it back they said nothing is wrong and it did stop. I just got my 60,000 mile tune up and it's doing it again. The car revs up then drops, the gauge goes crazy, lights dim stubbles and sometimes will stall. This happens when I'm coming to a stop or stopped for a light. It doesn't do this everytime I drive it but happens A LOT. I'm getting terrible gas millage and the car has no power when you step on it. Last night it revved up and dropped every time I slowed to make a turn or stopped for a light. I have to keep my left foot on the break while trying to keep the gas above 500 RPMs so it wont stall. OF COURSE when I brought it to the dealer they couldn't duplicate the problem. They put it on the computer, again, and it ran ok for a couple of days but I'm right back to the same problem. This is making me crazy. Anyone have any ideas?
