When fueling the vehicle to full, fuel will spill out causing a fire hazard. I have contacted my local dealer about a possible recall on this vehicle, and I was told that my VIN was not included in the current safety recall. The overflowing happens every time the vehicle is fueled.

Upon filling up at a gas station. My 2005 Dodge Durango slt will spit fuel back approx 5 secs after clicking off at the pump. My truck was built Jan 2005, 1 month outside of the orginal recall window and subsequent new window. I have checked the www and it seems alot of owners have similar issues. I would suggest that the original clean/ dirty point provided by the teir 1 supplier was incorrect and infact did not capture all vehicles with this issue. I believe this is a huge saftey issue that should be changed to encompass all 2005 Durangos as it it obvious that the current clean point was ineffective.

Fuel spit-back from 2005, Dodge, Durango (manufacturered 03/2005). According to NHTSA recall campaign number: 09V003000, this problem was solved on all vehicles manufactured after 11/30/04 and the complaint closed. It is time to revisit this problem, as indicated above, my vehicle was manufactured after that date. I and fuel station attendants are "dodging'" the violent eruption of fuel from the filler neck. Seems to me a new recall is necessary.

My 2005 Dodge Durango has the defective fuel tank filler inlet check valve described in NHTSA campaign id 09V003000. This was confirmed by performance Dodge the Dodge dealer in Lincoln, Nebraska. Chrysler claims my VIN is not part of this recall, however the needed replacement part is on nationwide back order due to this recall. I have confirmed my vehicle has the defective part and Chrysler should replace it at no charge. I have noticed spillage while refueling for several years but did not realize it was due to a defective part.

2005 Dodge Durango fuel check valve problem. Gas comes back out of the fuel tank when filling the vehicle. I've been drenched with gas many times, lucky there was no static discharge in the area! I was hit the eye with fuel on more than one occasion. Chrysler knows this is a safety issue and has one recall and an extension of that recall but refuses to warranty my vehicle stating that my VIN number is not effected! obviously, I have the same problem as the other vehicles covered under warranty. It's a safety issue and with 2 young children I'm even more concerned. The dealer who diagnosed the problem also agrees this is the same defect as the other Durangos covered by the recall. Chrysler is just ignoring the fact that more vehicle are effect because the initial investigation is closed but does need to re-open, it's a safety issue! the date below is not correct, this has been occurring for well over a year but it is getting worse.

Gas sprays out when fueling 2005 Dodge Durango. Started about 1 year ago. I contacted the Dodge dealer at that time and they said they'd never heard of a problem like that and that it must be faulty gas pumps. Problem has gotten worse and now occurs every time I fill the tank. I contacted the Dodge dealer again and they said there had been a recall for this problem but that this vehicle is not covered under the recall. Vehicle was inspected by independent auto shop which verified that there is a faulty fuel inlet check valve and that it is a serious fire hazard. They also verified that the recall was issued for this same faulty part but that the Dodge dealer told them this vehicle wasn't part of the recall when they contacted them on my behalf.

Every time I fill up my 2005 Dodge Durango the fuel comes spilling out of the fill pipe. If I do not stand back in time it ejects fuel all over me, my hands, my clothes, the ground and the side of the vehicle. I have contacted Dodge over a week ago and have not heard back from them. I checked the VIN for recalls and it is not included in the recall that is going on with the exact same problem.

2005 Dodge Durango; gas spills out after filling with gas at gas station. Dealer said my vehicle is not covered under the existing recall for other 2005 Dodge Durango's that also spill gas after filling. I logged a case with Chrysler and they want me to pay for analysis at the dealer, and then they will determine if and how much to cover; if any. They said its not covered and that the supplier of the part that has failed on the others is different, though I have seen numerous other complaints on discussion boards that they also are not getting covered repairs under a recall because their vehicle's VIN is not covered under the recall. I believe that they need to issue a new recall or expand this to more vehicles, it is very clear that more vehicles have this same safety hazard that they are admitting too. I do not feel that I have to pay the dealer to determine the issue. I want Chrysler to repair for free since this is covered under recall for other same vehicles.

When pumping gas, something in the gas tank will not shut off the gas pumping into the tank. If you are attempting to fill the tank, a large amount of gas spills everywhere including on the person pumping gas, on the car and all over the ground as the gas station. This is not alleviated from constantly pumping it by hand instead of the automatic. Our dealership said they have seen several of these complaints. The only way to correct is replacing the entire gas tank. I am concerned about the risk of fire due to the amount of gas just from filling tank. This has occurred since we purchased our used vehicle.

We just bought a 2005 Dodge Durango with 32000 miles that spits gasoline out of the filler neck when the tank has been filled. This is a common problem with these vehicles but Dodge won't recall them. And they want $900 to replace the tank can you help stop this safety problem?

I puchased a 2005 Dodge Durango. When I fueled up the vehicle fuel spilled out of the filler tube on to the floor no matter how carefully I fueled the vehicle. I researched the problem and discovered a fuel tank inlet check valve safety recall for the 2005 Dodge Durango. When I contacted Dodge I was told that the recall was VIN# specific and my vehicle was not covered by the recall. The problem described in the recall is the exact same problem I am having with my vehicle yet Dodge refuse to make the repair because they claim it is a warranty issue and the vehicle is out of the warranty period.

Dodge said I would have to pay for the repair, about $700, then I could request that Dodge reimburse me, but they did not expect me to be successful. Other 2005 Dodge Durangos were recalled for the same problems, but my VIN was not included in the recall.

2005 Dodge Durango - every time I try to fill the gas tank up, it spits gas back out. Dealer says that my VIN is not covered in the recall regarding this, but I have the exact same problem. I have heard stories of other owners getting this replaced by reporting it through NHTSA.
