The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Durango. While driving 25 mph and coming to a stop, the accelerator pedal stuck to the floorboard for a couple of seconds. The vehicle kept accelerating at 60 mph when releasing the accelerator pedal. The throttle remained wide open when released. The contact had to turn the engine off to be able to stop the vehicle. The contact coasted over to the side of the road and the throttle started to release. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. In addition, the headlights failed when the switch was in the on position and the windshield wipers activated when the switch was in the off position. The failure recurred numerous times only when the temperature was forty degrees or less. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000.

The dash board lights/ warning lights go off and on, and the odometer and RPM gauges bounce from zero to like 5000 RPM while driving. The ac and radio and dvd and navigation all shut off and on also while driving. I took it to crown motors on June 21 and had a diagnostic tests ran and nothing came up all was fine. They told me to bring it back in when it did it and to leave it run when I go inside to let them know. I took back down there on June 24 as it was doing it all again. They immediately took it back to the shop and stated you definitely have something wrong. They told after an hour that they could only get the reading up to the ECM and anything after that it is not showing up that it is dead. They called the lead engineer at Dodge to try and find a solution. I talked to them on June 25 and still no answer. They told me they had to put $10 in gas and was going to charge that to me as they lost the signal to diagnostic sue to turning the vehicle off. They drove around four different times to try and reestablish the problem and has not happened. I called them today June 27,2013 and told I could come and pick up the vehicle as they can not get the vehicle to do the problems again to reestablish the connections. They also said if it happens again to just bring it back over so they can reestablish the connection for the problems. I know that there has been recalls for the electrical system on these vehicles. They dealer told they were all closed out and my vehicle was not one of them. Still have not resolve the problems with my 2006 Durango. I do not feel comfortable driving my family around in it due to a possible fire like some have had or the engine shutting off going down the highway.

Interior lights never go off and has a recall. The dealership tells me it takes seven days to get the part and have it programmed. This is unacceptable since this is my only transportation. This vehicle also has three other recalls that the dealership didn't tell me about. I think they are making this difficult so that customers will not get their recalls done. There is also a recall on a suspension part that could cause an crash- wipers and lights- and filling the gas tank is a royal pain in the........ the fuel spits back out at you before your tank is full. These are all safety hazards that Dodge needs to address with no cost or inconvenience for the owner. If these recalls are not repaired there is a reasonable chance that life threatening events could occur. Not sure why the Dodge company allows these dealerships to do this to their customer. I suggest that every person who has had problems complain to the company as well as this site ------- may be someone will do something.

While using my left turn signal, my right blinkers came on. While using my right turn signal, my left blinkers came on. This has happened several times within the past year. More recently, my wipers would work intermittently. Also, sometimes my blinkers don't work at all.

Turn signal switch malfunctions when it is cold and wet out. Will indicate right turn when turning left and vise versa, high beam also malfunctions and will sometimes turn on washer fluid, wiper function also not working right when others fail. Seems to be when it is wet and below freezing temperatures. Similar complaints all over internet.

2006 Dodge Durango with multifunction switch issues. The windshield wipers work only on a slow intermittent speed. Only the right turn signal works, and will activate when the turn signal lever is pushed to make a left turn (the right signal only will blink). This switch was also replaced in 2008 because of the same problem. There was 40,000 miles on the vehicle at that point. There is now 75,000 miles.

The interior and exterior lights will flash on and off when driving leaving us temporally blind in the dark, and also the wipers work erratically, they will either come by them selves for a few seconds and then turn off, or during rain storms they will work erratically. They will wipe fast for a few seconds, and then slow down to a 2 or 3 second delay between wipes under heavy rain when the switch is set to hi, then they will go fast again for a few seconds, and then slow again. It is a safety concern for my wife driving my two small children in the rain. Also the radio audio turns its self down while driving when nobody touches the controls, and the steering wheel controls do not control the audio. I think it is all a connected issue with a defective clock spring which again I have seen many complaints about Dodge clock springs being faulty on www.dodgeforum.com.

Headlights will randomly turn off and on or just completely off. Simply pushing on the headlight switch can reproduce the problem. The fix is to replace the headlight switch. I disassembled the old switch, and the problem is that the surface mount component of the switch came loose on one corner and allowed intermittent contact with the circuit. Epoxy would probably have fixed it, but for $40, I just replaced the part myself. An internet search indicates this is a common problem with several other vehicles as well likely using the same part.
